Hi, When rebuilding the forks, do you replace the bushes in the fork outer tubes? They seem to be a press fit and I don't know how you would get to the one in the middle of the tube. Thanks,
I would think your service manual would tell you. But in any fork I've ever seen, yes you replace the outer bushing. From my kawi manual: I'm not a yamaha guy, so don't know how close the 08 forks are. But maybe this video will help? Or another in his series. They helped me a lot. http://www.onthethrottle.com/product/yamaha-r6-fork-service-howto-video/
Hi, The manual doesn't mention the bushes at all, which is surprising. Racetech doesn't sell them, so I will try Traxion next. They seem ok at the moment, but one is showing some wear.
Is there any wear on the chrome inner tubes? If the bushing is worn it would seem the coating would start to be worn down.
