Fellow Ducatisti, I just wanted to update everyone on this regional Ducati rally, things are coming together nicely and we are expecting a great turnout. Hopefully the weather holds so that everyone can maximize their experience. What: 2nd Annual Great Lakes Ducati Rally and Trackfest Where: Gingerman Raceway Park and surrounding area When: August 16th and 17th Why: So Ducatisti from our region can get together and revel in all things Ducati This event is gaining momentum and we have a great list of vendors and dealers returning this year as well as some new participants for 2008. I went last year and you guys did an excellent job. this is not just another trackday. I hope you get better weather this year. I am not sure of my schedule yet but I hope to make this one. If you are not sure about this just go. Gingerman is a blast. Nick
thanks for the kind words nick. we have lots of help from our members, our sponsors, ducati and other ducati clubs. and of course STT runs the on-track portion. hopefully the weather will be better... i don't think it can get any worse!
Hi all. I'm thinking of making this my first track day, for no particular reason other than that is the earliest I think I can get everything in order. This looking like it could be a larger than usual event, does anyone think it would be better to start out on a smaller weekend (fewer people out there to hold up/contend with)? Even if I did not come out to ride, I would still like to come out and get a feel for what it's all about. Just looking for some input. Thanks, JoJo
Novice groups usually have full attendance so I wouldn't worry about that. I also wouldn't worry about who you're going to hold up. It's not about that at all, it's about learning, regardless of the pace. Who knows, you could take to it like a fish in water. This weekend will have something for everyone. I think it's the perfect one to break you into the scene! Bring family and friends!
Last year the Ducati trackfest was my first track day. By all means, do it. You will not hold anyone up, but you will have a blast.
Great, thank you for the input. Just have to get the bike in order. Guess I'll have to figure out why my rear brakes don't work now. Possibly 5 years of never touching the pedal...
One more question. If I were to bring friends with me, is there a cost of admittance for everyone not riding the track day?
Most likely won't be anything out of the ordianry. I think it's @ $10 gate fee per day. Camping is an additional charge too.....@15/night.
Really?, I always thought he was a swell guy, at any rate I certainly would demand your money back for crappy design work..
