Hey I trust all went superbly well at Grattan Raceway for all the women (and men/boys) that attended!
IMHO, a fantastic event this year. I think there were 45+ women riders not including the coaches. :cheer: Shout out to my travel partners, Tea (Supergirl) and Jen (Truckstop), for a smooth and entertaining trip! Jen is a maniac (in a good way!) driving warrior :jester::rawk:. My Novice A #1 group did a fantastic job - all 3 ladies made great progress through the day, tried some new things, and finished the day with shiny bikes. It was great working with them and the rest of the ladies. Special thanks to the MI crew for organizing a great event and for their hospitality and go-fast advice. Props to David Grey for a 2-up ride that was faster than any of my solo laps. Holy crap do I have a lot to work on!! Also, thanks to Justin (Stickboy) for the tow and positive energy all day.
Yes, it was great! The trip with Kim and Jen (truckstop) was awesome, just like last year and I hope we keep making those trips for years to come!! :cheer: I had a fun time coaching and great students. :thumb: Special thanks to Todd and Justin for two fun sessions and David Gray for the two up ride!!
Awesome event. My fiance (Janelle) has only been riding since last summer on her Ninja 500r. I wanted her to try some track time to get more comfortable with cornering. Of course, she was more concerned with trying not to kill herself and was anxious about riding on the track. By the afternoon sessions, she was getting more comfortable and having fun. In the 1PM session it started to click and I watched her take 10 seconds off her lap time within 1 session. Tom worked with her all day. Really impressed by how he had the patience and let her build her confidence. I also liked the approach of multiple classes throughout the day instead of cramming it all in 30 minutes at the beginning of the day, which is how I learned. Best thing of all was when we got home and she was looking at the calendar to see what STT trackday she wanted to do next.
Thanks so much for all your help. It was a great time. Im totally looking forward to next year, maybe even barber in Oct. Leah
Glad to hear the event went well. Look forward to the Barber event. Who all is making the trek down for that?
