I'm just getting out for the first time this year, and I think I'm going to Grattan 5/18 for the LED or Pro-School. Is the school worth the extra $$$ What can I expect?

    Thanks,
    Jay

A few Questions... Are you a first time track rider? Would you be signing up for a novice group on a typical 3 group date? If so, you probably would benefit more from a normal 3 group event.

On the other hand, if you are an intermediate level rider, and have basic track techniques down, the pro school is the way to go.. The focus of the school is more toward advancing an already solid skill base rather than more personal attention to the novice drills. We help you through a self evaluation to determine your strong and weak points and help you improve in those areas w/ more focused instructor attention.

Also, if it matters, the day will be run counter clockwise (backward at grattan)

I've done quite a few track days at Grattan, but never CCW direction. I hear it's a lot of fun.

I'd probably consider myself a fast Intermediate looking for ways to improve so I can jump to Advanced this year. I'd like to race, but maybe not until '08.

    Thanks!

Based on that little bit of info... i would say that you are perfect candidate for the pro school! CCW is fun, and like learning a whole new racetrack.

If you are going to go to the pro school, spend a few mins giving yourself an honest assessment of your ability. where do you think you need improvement? What are your strong points? What do you want to get out of the day? Body position, corner entry/exit, racelines, braking, etc. these are the things we will ask you about at the beginning of the day so we can make it the best possible day for you. See you out there.
