Ok, i have a 05 zx6r that is 636cc. I want to race wera novice 600 class next year and need to make sure my engine is legal before i go dumping $ into suspension. I read the wera rules and it says the kawasaki zx6r is legal for the 600 class, however the newer ones (07-up) are 600cc. Any help verifying this is greatly appreciate.
Straight from the rulebook: C SUPERSTOCK EXPERT & NOVICE and C SUPERBIKE EXPERT & NOVICE Up to 650cc 4-stroke multis (this means yes a 636 Kawi is just fine for WERA).
Sweet! Im going to need to purchase everything to get my bike from street/track form to race ready. From bodywork to a valve job. Also a good suspension setup. Any suggestions or recommendations are appreciated. Obviously everyone is on a budget
For my 636 I just got the best suspension I could and left the motor bone stock. Other than that just bodywork, exhaust, powercommander and quick shifter are all that I have on it. You can notice a difference when you get behind someone with a built motor but I didn't want to spend the cash on it, as I wanted to keep it reliable.
Yeah I agree, motor is good but I'm showing 16k and hearing quite a bit of valve noise. Plus my clutch is shot. At a minimum I need clutch and valve job. Who did your suspension?
Buy my 07 zx6r instead... already got the best of everything and race proven... see my ad in the classifieds!
Ken from superbike italia did mine. I have also heard good things about 35 motorsports. Shocked it's making valve noise mine has 14,000 with no noise. The only thing that made noise and drove me nuts was the cam chain. I put on a manual tensioner and it's all quiet now.
