:amen: ALTHOUGH if you have an 09+ zx6r i'm all for you leaving those street tires on :lmao: (daddy needs some parts )
Haha, I do not have a zx6r. I just called Racer Cafe, gentleman told me it would be $391 at the track to put some new tires on! OUCH!
so buy a set of take off tires from somebody, I have a set in the garage that will work just fine for you for the rest of the year, somebody else here also offered you a set. Most race take offs like mine have maybe 2 days on them and are less than a month or two old... They wont be ideal for a race but they'll haul you around a track day just fine.
Will we be able to get into the track on Friday evening? If so, what time? I'm trying to decide if I want to come Friday, or just get up really early on Saturday morning.
i think normally after 5 or 6 you can get in.. though it looks like we may get pissed on saturday  fuggin hurricane's http://www.weather.com/weather/hurricanecentral/tracker/2012/isaac
9/3 Novice time needed!!!!!! I'd really like to go and also have a friend that wants to ride as well. If anyone is looking or knows anyone looking to unload some NOVICE times, please let me know. bew11278@aol.com Thanks and hope to see you guys there Bryan
Rain This is my second time going to an STT event, it looks like we should be expecting rain and I was just wondering what condition would the track have to be in to be considered rideable or not? I don't have a set of rain tires so it's got me a little weary.
Kirby - I'm not sure of STT's process for determining rideability, but I will say this. Just because "some" people go out in the rain, it doesn't mean that you have to. Yes, it will help to teach you how to be smooth on the throttle/brakes, but it can also teach you fiberglass repair, parts replacements, and wallet draining if you make a mistake. Some people say..."I paid for the track, so I'm riding!" To me, the expense of a lost day of riding, is FAR less than any repairs, or medical expenses. When I was coaching, I would go out if the members went out, but without rain tires, or street tires, and on DOT race tires, it's a bit sketchy. It's not even an option on slicks. Rain time is a great time to walk around, mingle, and meet new friends.
my 2 cents also that north track does not really dry that well, it can look pretty dry but still have moisture on it. In my opinion better to wait and avoid the potential of an expensive lap.
What's really sad is that the trailer is already packed and other that water and food, I'm ready to leave now. LMAO! It's been way to long since I've been to the track. I've even accepted the fact that I may spend Saturday huddled under my canopy, due to Issac, but at least I'll be at the track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
anyone want to sell me their wet Advance spot? Ill mount rains I crashed in my rubber rain suit that goes over my leathers. Crap. 20 percent rain @ gratan Crap. I should have gone to Denver mountain biking. I still might.
first track day. I bet you don't sleep the night before. Congratulations. It's like loosing your virginity... until you get your knee on the ground then that's like loosing your virginity. Again. .
I didn't know you can't get through the gate until 0700. That kinda sucks! Thanks ACC - not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
