I was trail braking, and I do every time. I just wasn't pressing on brakes hard enough. Thanks Jeremy!
The problem was I couldn't hold the same line.. I couldn't lean the bike any more. I've tried as hard as I could. Not enough trail braking + bad line = Grass or worse... Thank you Pete!
This is GREAT advice. I'm guilty of just jumping on my bike for the first session on Sundays without checking anything other than my tire pressures. Glad you're ok Alex -- sorry we didn't get a chance to play around any on Sunday though. Guess I gotta wait 'til spring to get passed in 3 & 7 by the tiny blue bike again.
Mike, every time you post a video, it's of you going in the grass. Every event you are in the grass. You say you try to lean the bike but it won't go. If so, there is a reason, come find me next time and we'll go through it and find out where the problem is. Grass = bad Pavement = good.
Holy traffic hell! :cheers:Action @ 3:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxUi3a4ph_M&feature=youtu.be
Yup. Right around the 7:20 Mark as you are passing me, there was a bike laying there at the exit of T4. I had noticed it as I was exiting T3 which caused me to slow down a bit (sorry about that!) yet I didn't see any flags. Guess it must have just happened.
Was my first time out in A that day too, fresh tire, just started to get back up to speed after a full day of twisting knobs and a morning of Novice riding/classroom. Oh well, the next few sessions were fun and I got back up to pace with you fast guys. Was still bummed about the flag, the session after lunch is always a blast, everybody is out there!
The session after lunch (I beleive it was that session anyway) was like a superbike race!! All the fast boys were battling it out very clean/close passing on the brakes, through the corner, exiting... Man what fun that was to see... You all were flying!! I was able to only try to keep up for 1 lap and then you were all gone.lol One of you guys went into the grass at T7. Steve, Cyril, Jeremey, JT, Walle, BMW dude, Rob, and some others.. Awesome stuff bro's!! The dude on the BMW was sliding that back end all the way through the final corner and Walle was power wheelying out of T6.. that was sweet stuff!
Well here is a slow video lol I haven't put one together in a long time, forgot how fun it was. But my GoPro is still acting up so I never got a full session recorded  Watching this made me realize what turns I improved onpassing wise and what turns I HAVE to work on next year! :frusty::frusty: But a great weekend none the less! Those two or three sessions after lunch were a blast. I haven't had that much fun I awhile. I was nice to have the aprilia running good. It's going to be a long winter.
^ ^ ^ She's makin' me look like such a slow-poke in T4 and its one of my better corners  Way to haul butt out there this weekend Shelly :rawk:
i always notice a huge lack of novice videos in these threads. Anyway, for anyone in N group i'll be uploading mine tonight so stay tuned!
^:thumb: The bike will keep leaning until you crash. You said you haven't crashed yet, so sounds like you haven't found the limit yet! It will lean more. Go find Steve next time out. He's the man and will help you get faster and most importantly safer. BTW here's what happens when you can't lean the bike anymore: I ran out of talent on Sunday and crashed out of the lead of the Middleweight Supersport race: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9vIAq2BaSts#t=169 I basically made 3 consecutive errors that caused me to tuck the front. I missed a downshift(1), I didn't have enough engine braking so I held the front brake longer(2), and fed in some clutch(3) which unsettled the chassis while leaned over and boom I went!
