The Armour Bodies turned out to be fantastic though. Center drilled dimples, installed fasteners, mounted...done. I am told by everyone that Sharkskinz and CRC is the same. But, Armour Bodies (and CRC) is $360 less than Sharkskinz (for my bike) with as good or better fit and finish. :)

cheetah racing bodywork has a really good price, fitment is exellent, and it held up in my little crash this weekend with only a few minor scrapes. No cracks, or tears.

I've had the exact opposite experience with Cheetah Racing Bodies- very poor fitment, I couldn't get the lower to line up w/ the upper, no matter how hard I tried and they seemed cheap and flimsy. Shortly after mounting, the gel-coat began to delaminate and they exploded upon impact in a very low speed tipover in the grass in the paddock last year.

The Sharkskins that were mounted previously on the bike fared much better, having survived numerous crashes from the previous owners. They really seem to take a beating pretty well.

I replaced the Cheetahs with a set of Airtech bodywork that I picked up on Ebay. They seem very sturdy and judging by the numerous abraisions left by the guy i bought them from, quite durable, too. They're definitely one of the heavier sets of bodywork on the market, the glass seems twice as thick as the Cheetahs and are thicker than the Sharkskins as well. Since I'm not riding at a level where shaving a few ounces of sprung weight is going to make a significant difference for my riding, I'm not terribly concerned. As thick as they are, it also follows that they're a bit inflexible too. That hasn't yet been much of a problem, other than some spiderweb cracks in the gelcoat in an impact area on the upper fairing. I really hope not to give the Airtechs a full test this season.

    Cheers,

    Lance

    That is a good tip!

Another good tip is to use Zip ties on the mirror mounting points instead of bolts or d-ring fasteners. The upper mirror mounting point is the weakest part of the bodywork. Usually in a crash the zip ties will brake or come loose before the bodywork will crack. If you use bolts, a crash will more than likely brake or crack one off the ears off the upper.

I have had Hotbodies, cheetah, armor, sharkskins, sembimoto, and one more that I can't really remember the name of. My experience was this. The Sharkskins was the best by far, if you are looking for perfection and money is't really a problem. Cheetah and Armor bodies, both are very flexible and kinda thin, which was nice, but both took a little work to make look really good(to me). Hotbodies is not the best bodywork on the market, but I have to give them props. I had a pipe burn through the first lower they had for an R6, they replaced both of the lowers I had No Question. Also with the amount of support they give to local racers, and to Trackday orgs. I would not buy anything else. On top of that when I crashed they were easy to fix, and I didn't trash 1K of bodywork.

    My opinion

Here's the Armour Bodies mounted. Fitment took 30 minutes max.

I have also Hot Bodies. A bit of fidgeting with the fit, but I am happy.
