I am looking at a new one piece and can get a ridiculous discount on the Alpinestars Racing Replica or I can pay the asking price for the RS Taichi. Pros/cons?

Thats a tough call. Both are solid, top of the line suits. I''ve had these suits and liked them both. I never had problems with either suit and crashed both of them with no issues. That being said, the Taichi suit probably has better leather and less seams to blow out.

Thanks for the reply, Rob, I knew you had a Taichi.
    Good point on the seams.
And the Jap cowskin is also a +.

On the other hand, the RR appears to have more PU sliders (elbows/ knees). Maybe even the leather quality could be close.

Taichi is top notch all the way - or Dainese. Either way, call STG up and talk to the sales guys there and they will get you into the right suit. Trust em, I used to be one of em.
