    Michelin PR's vs 1800's

    How do they compare?

What's your opinion? I love the PR's but man it gets expensive. Would I maybe get a little more distance out of the 1800's?

    First.....

    What are you riding?

Which PR front and whih PR rear are you using?

    What is your skill level?

Do you have properly set up suspension?

What PSI cold are you running Front? Rear?

Where do you ride most often?

BTW - We have PR1 and PR4 combo for only $265.. or choose a Power Race Medium for rear for $10 more. ($275 a set)

I'll help you choose the best tire combo.

    What are you riding?

02 gix6 but will be adding a TLR once I get it together. I plan on using the gixxer wheels on it to simpify my tire needs

Which PR front and whih PR rear are you using?

PR1/PR4 and powers in the damp

    What is your skill level?

Front to middle I. was working to get sub 10sec at beaver while you and Bonnie were in Vegas for the Femmoto bash. Last time at Nelson I'd say I was in the 15-20 second range(still trying to figure out that endless right hander) If you recall the video from Mid-O 7/3 I was chasing the guy doing the filming but couldn't catch him.

Do you have properly set up suspension?

No, I have a proper penske in back but stock up front so it's been a compromise all year. But santa is bring me some racetech springs :D

What PSI cold are you running Front? Rear?

I start out 29.5/23.5 in the morning then put on the sox. I've been taking temps coming off the track and checking pressures trying to find that 160degree 10% increase and adjusting from there.

Where do you ride most often?

Beaver, Pocono FUSA and Nelson. Got to Mid-O once last year but plan on correcting that. Also want to get to Summit.

BTW - We have PR1 and PR4 combo for only $265.. or choose a Power Race Medium for rear for $10 more. ($275 a set)

I know you do 8) with the exception of the odd ebay deal you guys are my supplier

I'll help you choose the best tire combo.

I know you will. My fronts are fine but I'm getting chunks in the rear that are most likely suspension related and may be due assertive throttle use into and past the apex. Last rear did one day at Nelson and a day and a half at Beaver(Actually it didn't make it to lunch, I skipped the last session to change it)

Aside from the chunking I'm seeing it could be that this is all the mileage I'll get out of them, I'm still trying to establish a baseline for what I can expect.

    Thanks

    Monte,

What do you recommend for a 749S? Advance group rider. Ran consistent low 1:30's at Grattan on the SV. I tended to ride the front a bit too much on the SV. I haven't taken the Duc to the track yet, so I have no idea what my times will be on it. Currently it has resprung stock suspension with track only set-up by Section8.

Ducati's (and twins in general) load the front more than in0line fours. Are you riding this 749 on the street as well or just the track? Also, if it is damp/wet do you ride?

Dion - As you may know, I love the slicks. I also love Pilot Powers too. We need to sort the rebound damping in your rear shock. I'd stick with the PR1/PR4 and sort the rear THEN we can try slicks if your want.

If it was me I would ride slicks or Power Race when dry and keep a set of Pilot Powers around for damp/wet conditions. Your Powers should last all eason if used as "wet/damp" rubber only and they are not very expensive to begin with. We are thinking of a special package deal to this effect.

For Grattan and Mid-Ohio, what Pilot Race combination would you recommend: PR1, PR2, PR4, PR5, etc?
