at least. it's possible to have up to 7 sessions, but that doesn't happen often. a lot of guys, myself included often skip the last session. OTOH, I've seen Travis/slow1, our beloved webmaster, go out and do every session. ahem, I mean every session, Novice, Intermediate & Advanced. the guy's a madman- not to mention in far better shape than I...

Yeah, I think I've only had a 7-session day once, at VIR. Six is pretty normal.

If this is your first track day, you'll get more track time than you know what to do with!

One session per hour (three 20-minute rotations equals one session per hour). Day starts at 9am, lunch is at noon, so that's three sessions before lunch. Day starts back up at 1pm and ends at 5pm, so that's four sessions after lunch.

It'd take one heck of a lot of crashes or one enormously disasterous crash to knock that schedule far enough off that you don't get in 7 sessions.

And you'll be suprised how fast the 40 minutes of down time flies by. Park the bike, struggle out of your leathers, grab a bottle of water, chug half the bottle, talk to a coach about some aspect or other, go to the bathroom.... what?! I'm up again already?! ... struggle back into leathers, clean the visor, chug more water, don helmet and go line up on the grid.

Ride every session at a LED and you better have packed an extra 5 gallons of go juice. It is amazing how much longer those ten extra minutes are and that 30 min break in between goes by quick.

anyone who rode all seven sessions this weekend, at Autobahn is officially my hero. Holy cow! it was hot!!! one thermometer in the paddock was reading 104 degrees, sunday at 1:30 pm. I managed two sessions and two laps on saturday before calling it a day and cooling off in the shower. sunday was a little better- I managed to run two in the AM and two in the afternoon. it was just two darn hot for me to do much more. the weather's looking good for Mid Ohio, this weekendhighs in the 70's. I'm stoked.

Last time out I got 7 sessions and the breaks do go by fast. I was very satisfied with the amount of track time I got, even though two of the sessions were red flagged by crashes.
