Thanks so much to everyone for putting on such an awesome trackday. Tire service was top notch! Many thanks to all STT Instructors, especially Felix and Mike. This was the best time I've ever had on a motorcycle. Mark you run a tight operation. Awesome trackday.
How bout getting to hang out with the AMA guys.... Spies walked up and watched right next to me on top of the tower.... Jessica Zalusky (sp) was hotter than I expected in person, Pegram humbled me more than once, he crew guy was extremely helpful, Chaz Davies was killing it out there.... All of them were super nice! It was cool seeing them hang out like regulars...
I was pitted right across from Larry Pegram and spent a few minutes picking his brain about the 'Bama Coaster ( Turns 7-8 ) and Turns 14A-15. He couldn't have been any nicer and, needless to say, his advice was very helpful. It was so impressive to watch Larry and Chaz Davies go flying by me... that's the most fun I've ever had being passed!
Jessica was pretty cute a couple years ago...and faster than me I can't believe Pegram showed you up , you mean he was faster than :43's ! . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Ya'll suck BTW
my mangina was swollen causing wind drag.... i could only get 46's. I experimentd with some shifting that apparently not better.
Been there done that but it's hard to improve every single time you're at the track . Laptimes are not the only measure though and I bet you learned something . C'ya at Tally in 2 weeks ! You've got several trackdays this year under your belt already so slowdown a little so I can tag along ......t'll be my first time out
yeah I know.... but your right I did learn some stuff... I ALMOST pulled a Benny in T1. Started coming in alot hotter. One time I felt my back tire slide about 4 inches. I also learned that I can go through the roller coaster FAST. Pegram blew by me right before it and he hardly slowed down going right ove the concrete...so I tried it a lil faster each time. I will be ready next time out there.
That sounds like my weekend. My good sessions were consistently in the 45's to 47's, a few seconds off my best. Saturday I had tire issues, and the cold temps didn't help. But even on Sunday I couldn't manage to close the gap. Still, I feel like I learned a few things about gear selection and lines. Barber gives you so many options that you almost always learn something new.
I could not agree more. It was the best two track days I've probably ever had. (except for the morning cold). Mark, Mike and everyone ran a great event. Minimal crashes. No one had to leave the grounds for medical. Hanging with the AMA guys. A terrific weekend of learning. How much fun can you have taking the line away from Pegram (the worm) in turn 3 only to have him stick it to you. He actually was exiting 5 before I even entered 5. All you can say in your helmet is "Wow". I was among 10 good friends from Wisconsin that made the trip again to Barber. With only one exception, everyone admitted that Barber is their favorite destination track. We are very lucky up here in the north to have some great tracks as well. You southerners really should make the trip to Road America in July. 4.3 miles of fast, fast, fast. It is a whole different challenge that every track day guy should try. Friday and Saturday (July 14-15) is Motorcyclist Magazine's Fantasy Camp. Barber had it last year and RA gets it this year. SIGN UP NOW!
