I've been to Barber for track days, but I've always stayed in a motel. We just got an enclosed bike trailer and plan on staying in the paddock for the 6/10&11 days. I know last year you had to rent a converter to run 110 electricity. Are these available on Friday night? Where do I get one? Is the electricity on all night? I don't want to be stuck in a hot trailer with no air conditioning and then have to ride the entire next day. Any information would be much appreciated, as I have to cancel my hotel reservation soon if I'm going to do it - then I'm stuck.

    Thanks!

Yep, you can rent electric friday night for the weekend. no problem. The track rents them, not STT. They also now have power on the second and third levels, not sure how much $$$.

    Barber Power

I just spoke with the folks at ZOOM (they run Barber) and they said someone will be around in the paddock when we get in and they will collect for the power and turn on the new power posts as you pay or get you fixed up on the first level. The cost for power, on both levels, has gone up from $25 a weekend to $25 a day to help pay for the new power posts. Ouch, but I'd spend that much in gas to run the generator for AC all day and all night.

    See everyone there!! Rodney

Ouch indeed but I'm only going for one day and it is very nice to have power. I don't have A/C but I'm bringing every fan I can find.

Thanks for the info, Rodney. I called ZOOM last week and didn't get a call back. I just cancelled my hotel reservation, so I'm there. I wonder if they charge for a full day on Fri, plus Sat and Sun. Whatever it is, I would spend more for a hotel for two nights or running a generator, like you said. I could live without the air conditioning on Sunday, since I don't plan on running it during the day, anyway. I appreciate the help. Look us up - we'll be in a burgundy Ford F-150 with a blue SV650 and an red/white/blue/yellow RC-51 track bike.
