Yep. Depending on when I can pick my bike up from the shop, I may not be rolling in until 4 or so Friday.
I haven't ridden Barber yet...anyone from south Atlanta going Sunday? I just signed up and can't wait to check it out after hearing all the rave reviews.
just curious ? what happen with the ppl waiting at the gate pass 9p ? i though it was till 10p to get registered on a friday night so i could drop my trailer and bikes. and got there at 915p and was advised by the guard they have been gone and that new rule was in place.
I didn't know it was a new rule. I have always been told 9 PM. Once you check in you can go and come as you please
Jimbo you are correct, at Barber gates always have closed at 9:00pm AL time on Fri and Sat nights. However if you have got there by 9:00pm and have your armband you can come and go 24 hours a day. See the "facts" thread on all Southern events for gate times. I usually post this up two weeks before each event.
thanks guys. i have actually checked in there after 9p before on different occasions. so that is why i was curious. i will just know in the future to head to the hotel instead if i cant make it by 9p
I will be doing my first track day at Barber on Saturday and am very much looking forward to it. Any recommendation for a first timer let me know.
Hydrate before you get there. Leave all your cares and worries at home. Bring plenty of water and gatorade with you. And the main thing is just have fun
camping Anyone else going to camp at barber? (And no, an rv is not camping.) If so, is it the lot above turn 2?
I have seen tents on the ridge above the pits. If you setup there you could see the track excellent. I think the entrance is just beyond where you turn to go to the pits or the access road to parking before you get to the pits. The area in turn two is used during big events but I don't think you need to go there during a trackday (the area above has motorhomes during big events I seem to recall). Oh and a hotel until I can get a motorhome
Excellent weather. My best trackday times ever. Sadly day two the cams were flaky so I don't think I have my best lap.
hey JIMBO you were my CR and helped me a lot thanks for helping make my first track day and enjoyable one. BTW I was on the old ducati 916 with red Astar suit and flat black helmet. thanks again we will be going to BARBER again for sure
Had a great time for my first weekend at Barber! I love that track. Hats off to all the staff for a great weekend. I cant wait to get the bike fixed and hit it again. BTW: Felix I should have listened to you and took it a little easier. That back tire broke one too many times and finally bit me just like I said it would the session before.
