    HI Gals,

My wife is selling her BMW touring bike and getting an SV650 this winter. I'd love to have her come out next season and join me at the track and I'm worried that her Aerostitch ulitmately isn't going to cut it. My question is which brands best fit a womanly figure? (ie. accomodate hips) she's got her heart set on Dianese leathers, but they seem to me more bling than anything...

    I'd appreciate your suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Lance

Track leathers for women that fit correctly your best bet is a custom set. Bonnie and I got ours from Z leathers and love them. They will set you back about a g note.

For track and street check out G-Line, Hein Gericke.

www.g-line-store.com. We got to preview this line at Femmoto this year and this is the first line of motorcycle wear designed for women.

since she's just sticking her toes in the water, so to speak, we've gone a more low budget route and i got her a 2pc alpinestars 4w. they're a little snug, but it is, ahem, the holiday season... mine are little snug too. thanks for the tip, though. i'll be sure to hook her up with you when she comes out for the first time, this spring.

    cheers,

    Lance

That's what I would suggest to anyone asking that question, and what I did. I wore mine a little last season, mostly riding two-up (haven't done a trackday yet), but I am happy with it. Also, I got my back protector from STT. Bonnie was really helpful.

Oh, good choice on the SV!

    Leathers

I know this topic is not new, but figured I'd add the below post from the original spot in the "welcome" thread, since this is where most women would look for it.

PM me with any questions at any time or just post them here.

I got my XES suit from Moto Heaven http://www.moto-heaven.com

Phil did a great job with it and his prices are extremely reasonable for a full custom suit. Make sure you request extra hip protection Or if you want to try a suit off of the rack you could try a small men's suit from Joe Rocket. I almost fit in one myself. Rec Leisure has a large inventory of suits and can order suits for you just to try on. Anderson's also carry a large inventory now. Most of the stuff there is street at this point, but as far as street gear goes, they carry A Ton for women. As far as for the track goes though, I'd recomend a one piece any day. :)

If you can afford it, the custom suit is definitely the way to go, especially since they can add the extra hip protection. I just think it is so important for us women to think of. I know some worry more about looks than safety, but that just seems silly to me. Many of the guys out there are riding with Bohn shorts for extra hip protection. Sometimes they are smarter than they look.

    Added on March 20th.

P.S: I might be selling my second XES suit since I had 2 made. The second one looks just like the one I wore last year, but instead of baby blue it is a dark blue.

You can easily take off my name. I have not ever worn it once since I just stuck with the baby blue suit once I got used to the girly color.

Try Motorcycle Leather Exchange. They sell used leathers and you might luck out and find something that she'll fit into for a really good price. If you don't see something you like, try emailing them, cause they can often work with you or might have something new in stock that isn't listed yet. Plus they're really good at helping you figure out what will fit different people (since every different brand is cut differently and euro sizes can be kinda hard to figure out).

    Thanks Mary,

She's kinda hard to fit, as like me, she's pretty tall, at 6'1. she's settled on a Joe Rocket 2-piece, as it fits her best in the hips. probably not the highest quality, but she's not likely to be going very fast, either. she's a little nervous about her first track day, which will most likely be at BeaverRun, Memorial Day weekend.

Elin, she loved your suit! i'll definitely suggest an xes, when/if she's ready to upgrade.

    Thanks ladies,

See you at the track soon,

    Lance

    Women's Leathers

I also have a pair of the XES leathers from moto-heaven.com. I love them. I actually spent less money having my custom suit made (with more protection, etc.) than I would've spent buying one off the rack from Alpinestars. There is a link below of what they look like while in "motion." Hopefully you will be able to see them here:

In this link - look for bike number 271 - that's me.

I've also got a custom XES. It was the only way I could get a one piece suit. At 5'2", and barely triple digit weight, I had to go custom.

    I love my suit!

    Alpinestar..

..My wife just picked up an Alpinestar Stella one piece suit. She is 5'3" and around 105 lbs, so it has been hard to find an off the rack suit to fit her. The Stella fits her perfectly and seems to conform to the female bode much better than anything we have tried. The only problem with it is that the one she has does not come perforated. The do have a perf'd one, but it does not fit as well.

We may do that this summer. This thing is going to get hot. Here is a picture of her wearing it. It is by far the best fitting suit she has tried.
