BHF Sept. 25th - Gron4 Photography- PICS ARE UP!

Hi everyone,



We are currently going through photos from Monday's trackday. We are a bit behind due to the CCS weekend on the 22-24th. Those are done now though so we are on to the 25th, and will hopefully have them up before the weekend. Photos will be here when completed:

Andy I'm hoping you got some good shots of the carousel I was really trying to work on my body position. Can't wait til they're posted 8)

 

Nick, that picture is a keeper my friend!! If that is a precursor to other photos, you are going to have yourself a good c.d.'s worth :!:



And that is Chris in the third photo. With my luck, I was going so slow that I was most likely blurred by the camera moving faster than me :lol:

We are a little burnt out. 4 days in a row of shooting, than 3 days of hustling to get 4,500 some CCS pics up. I'm hoping we will have the 25th up tomorrow. 8)

Thing is, for me..



I have to sneak on the internet at work, so everytime theres no photo's...

not worth sneaking...



course I know thats NOT your problem...

They aren't more important but going in order they come first. Organizing the photos and displaying them the way we do takes a lot of time. In hours, for 4,000 pics (like CCS) it breaks down roughly like this:



deleting bad pics: 6 hours

Sorting pics by individual: 8 hours

batching pics into large and thumbnails: 5 hours

Uploading pics onto server (no work, just waiting): 6-8 hours

Building webpage for display: 2 hours



Just some estimates, but it does take a lot of time. Luckily we have two people working on it. 8)

I know, I'm just anxious... Have'nt been on my bike all year, didnt really feel all that comfy, or fast...

Gron- What kind of camera do you shoot with? These shots look GREAT. I just ordered some from another photographer and I have to say, so far these are blowing his out of the water in clarity.

 

We use Canon 20D's (will likely be upgrading to 1D's very soon) but our lenses do a great job as well. It also helps to have been doing it for many many years and eat, sleep, dream motorsports and how to shoot them best. 8)



It can be very hit or miss with track photographers, most I've seen look like misses. Blurry pics, stop action, and in almost all cases no idea how to post process images properly. That's my perspective at least. I can see where a lot of them would make people never want to buy pics again.

 

" L " Lenses ?



I used the 20D in the past and sold it for the 1DMKII about 1 year ago.



The 1DMKII is much faster than the 20D, although the 20D is a very good camera as well.

Hey guys,



Just found out I was in this thread! I was dying waiting for the pics from the 25th, but they are AWESOME! You guys seem to have come a long way this season. I will definately be buying the CD and possibly a print or two as well. The photographs are the best that I have gotten all season, and the day was the best day I have had. 2nd day on the new bike and personal record laptimes! Dean and Nick, it was fun hanging out. Maybe once more this season, otherwise, see you all next year.
