Sad but true..... its hard to believe someone could go through millions in a matter of a few years but it happens. ........I'd like to think I'd be smarter than that.
Damn!!!!!!!!!!Dude just wanted to vent his frustration and you kick him off for a week? I wouldn't call him a guest in "STT's" house. More like a PAYING CUSTOMER. I guess the customer isn't always right. Kick me off for a week, who cares. Hell ban me for life. But you thinking you're God is ridiculous. "You have no rights here". Classic.
i dont mean to be a dick but..... technically your doing the exact same thing ... im just sayin im just sayin we all look at new post but decide to respond to them or not! lol its cool though
I have no illusion that I'm God or god. I've banned two people is four years IIRC. One for a week and one for good. I'm very understanding and try to help if possible. Some people don't want help, they just want to bitch, whine and complain, argue ad stir up poop. The needs and experience of the many trump the needs or desires of the one. It's the same way on the track.
When it comes to haveing something done on time, especially when it comes to a new track, consider this. A newly constructed race track is like building the prototype of some object. That is, this is the first one of many. Do you think Ducati said look for the new 1198 in December before a prototype was built, tested, re-engineered, re-tested and so on? Of course not. What Ducati has to its advantage is that they can publish a release date once everything is in order to begin “mass productionâ€. Building a prototype motorcycle for example, while motorcycles have been made for over 100 years, this one new concept hasn’t yet been tried so there is something to learn even though ‘we’ know how to make one. What a track like BG or even the NJMP tracks (which were actually behind too) have to a disadvantage is that they don’t know what to expect from the weather, the land, contractors, government rule changing on the fly (OH YES IT HAPPENS). Even Laguna Seca with the millions from Yamaha had issues in 2005, 2006 and with the horrible asphalt dilemma of (2007?). The track (any business really) needs to start being productive (profitable) as soon as possible for a whole bunch of reasons. If they are the best track in the world but constantly lose money, how long will they last? The whiner should try to build a prototype of anything, produce an estimated finish date and then see if he can come through. Then after testing it, see if it really works and doesn’t break. As with any prototype there is always some kind of issue to be dealt with. If it is just copying something from before; well then, that is cookie cutter mass production. In the end, some people will never understand business and this is why these people are always broke or in trouble financially; because, they don’t understand how to handle money. Because STT has been around as long as it has and seems to continue on and be getting better I have to say that it seems to me that Monte and Bonnie understand sound business practices. Lastly, most people don’t understand that events like these and really much smaller ones too require a year to plan for. Look at how many days STT has and each one needs to be planned for. Thank you Monte and Bonnie for running a tight ship.
How long does this paving take? How soon would the sealing go down after paving? I hate to ask this but does that mean the 6/20 & 6/21 track days aren't going to happen? I'm assuming the WOW on 7/1 is a much better bet.
Yeah, this is what Im wondering. Should I start looking for a replacement trackday for the June 20th BG day?
http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=216946 Not sure how legit this is, but this guy says he heard nothing going until July.....
I went and looked at the track May 20 and took a lap and I can say that this will be one awesome place for bikes, but I can also say almost without a doubt that this place will not be open for months and maybe not this year. Even if they get pavement they have no parking, no run offs, no curbing. They basically will have black top and thats it. Clearly not enough for safety standards. Im not tryn to be a downer, I live 40 minutes away and am super excited about this place and think it will be an amazing experience once opened. This just wont be anytime soon.
Not good. I would really hope that if they truly did say that paving will begin June 15th and have a 2 week cure time, that STT would know this by now as well and realize that June 15 + 2weeks does not equal June 20th, and let us know so we can begin alternate arrangements. That is what makes me think that is not accurate. Surely Monte would not string us along knowing this is their plan.
Not again...... If this one cancels, I hope I can get my money back that I moved from the other two days that cancelled. I am not going to sign up for BG until it is done and I know someone rode a bike on it with an organization. I have many questions as to why but will not drag it out here. I guess we will know shortly.
was going to head down tomorrow but suppose to rain i will head down soon and get some substantial pics and names rather than some guy said it ... ill investigate...lol
I rode down sunday. I dont know what capacity of the person I talked to but he seemed knowledgible and said paving was scheduled for june 15. He did not mention a 2 week cure time. I`m gonna sign up for june 21 but I doubt it happens.
