carbon helmets, cosmetic or real benefits?

    Anyone wearing a Schuberth SR1? I'm in the market for a new lid and am looking around. All the reviews rave about it and I won't justify $1400 for an AGV Pista GP (doesn't mean I can't).

    I just picked up a HJC RPHA-10 which is carbon plus other materials and it is noticeably lighter than my HJC FG-17.

    Biggest difference so far though is that my new helmet doesn't smell like I'm wrapping my head in wet underwear.
