World Supersport I think. forget which year & track though. I have it on tape somewhere. I think one of the cornerworkers got the worst of it when he went back into the middle of it all to help a rider.

Somebody was asleep at the switch there. A motor pops like that and the corner workers should have a flag out instantly. At a Euro pro race like that they have a worker for every bloody flag, and the worker should have had his debris flag up before the smoking bike even hit the ground! As for a worker getting hit, well he must have been an idiot. You see all that smoke, then bikes start raining in like artillery shells, you just know better than to go out there until the field is under control. I mean, how much more evidence do you need that there's a surface condition?

I used to teach cornerworking for CCS and ran Corner Safety at a few pro events before I started racing. Yeah, kinda ironic that I was once a worker coach....

Yeah, it looked pretty bad. Now that you said it I didn't even notice they didn't throw a flag right away. That's a very good point. It seriously could have kept a couple others from flinging into that scenariao too.

I was told that they use a picture of one of your get offs for the corner work staff shirts. Also 333 has been called mmm and www depending on the position of your bike.

Sorry Chris, but it's a slow day at work and no one here to pick on.

Rabbit, At least you have access to a computer at work. I only have access to a portajohn, (sometimes). Being a plumber I always wish I had a job where I needed to wash my hands after I went to the bathroom instead of before...

All true, but you forgot the worker radio chant.

"Sometimes a racer, sometimes a worker, sometimes debris. It's Chris Onwiler on bike 333."

I thought that was the track announcer's description?

Remember the AMA corner worker running across the track in T1 during the Daytona 200? (Note I wrote DURING, that is the track is HOT and was almost hit at speed) I believe it was in 2002.
