Wow, think I might try Daytona if schedule works out. --- But. .do you need to qualify.. e.g. win or place in your region, or can you just be a CCS racer and sign up????? didn't see on the entry forms...

Looks like an amazing event. How does track compare to BHF? Anyone ever been down there? Looks like a lot of straights.. Dang... Hey.. Looks like they have a Team Hammer Advanced Riding School TH.. I would probably NEED to take that too. Need to learn track in 1 day.. --- Took me all season and then FINALLY 1-1 training to figure out Turn 5 exit at BHF... LOL.. -- Posted questions on CCS forums as well.. --btw.. let me know if anyone else going.. public or PM and we can share info.. -- Might finally move to LA in Winter.. so this would be my chance to hit this baby..

Ok.. I actually Read the Pre-Entry Form.. CCS Gridding. I interpreted it as: If your not ranked, you just grid in the back.. Cool :)

nothing you know from BHF will translate to Daytona.

the first time you have to go up the banking, all you'll be saying is "ohf@ckohf@ckohf@ckohf@ck"

only good pointer there, is hang on, and look *up* at the wall. if you look through the turn, you'll drop to the bottom of the banking.

the infield is slower than you think because your tires will not want to grip as well after going pretty much straight for a while. it also doesn't flow all that well. It's basically two horseshoe turns and a kink.

the florida region guys have money and expensive bikes. built bikes. fast bikes. but they don't know how to brake, because they don't need to at their tracks.

it's definitely an experience, and something to try at least once.

and i'm not sure how gridding works, but there aren't any qualifications for racing in the ROC. you could race there if it was the only weekend you did all season.

Thx Truckstop... But is it still fun??? Or just too many straightaways watching guys with built motors pass you.. e.g. BHF, and Road America is Fun for me. I'd hate to drive all the way down there wishing I was at Road America. -- LOL..

I think it's worth it to go at least once. It's at the bottom of my list of tracks that I like, but riding up on the banking is an experience you can't replicate, or even prepare yourself for and I'm glad I got to do it.

Here's a video with commentary from everyone favorite local crazy mofo. Features a lot of drafting action, which is something else you have to learn to deal with at Daytona.

Excellent Post Truck Stop --- Thx! I think Road of America and BHF are my fav tracks. I dig the turns, and beautiful setting with the trees, and grass. I like ACC but not as much as it' more barren.

Daytona looks like a big slab of ugly concrete.. LOL. .Concrete jungle. (with all due respect I can't watch NASCAR-, I'm sure there is skill involved but it looks way to boring) I'm sure Daytona will be fun, or at least an experience. From looking at the track looks like there are a few good turns.. Like Indy, I guess they change the Car track for Motorcycles to run thru the in-field. :) -- I just hope there are some trees somewhere .. for camping at track!!

Yeah, no. No trees in the infield. There's a little bit of grass, and a lake, but you're basically in a big concrete bowl all day. Also, it's Florida. The sun, even in October, is pretty brutal so bring your sun block.

Also, don't wear sandals in the grass. There are nests of evil biting ants everywhere and I was scratching and miserable for two weeks.
