Dude holy cow!!! I know you aren't supposed to stop on the track but I don't think you had a choice. And idk if I could keep moving after hitting someone like that. That sucks. Hope the dude is OK
Grayson actually lol. 78 & grayson pkwy. I would but i just sold my street bike, hopefully wifey will let me pull a trigger on a new yamaha FZ-09
You aren't supposed to stop on the track, but I think you are supposed to wait for traffic to pass before re-entering the track (and stay off the race line for a bit).
Oh, I get it. You thought I pulled off and stopped intentionally. I was just trying to keep the bike up after I felt the rear jump. Afterward, I wasn't sure if it was a vertical or lateral jump. After video review, I think it was vertical. I think this was my thought process. don't hit him:fear: try not to hit the bike either:fear: I'm going to crash!:fear: I didn't crash!:amen: Did I just run someone over?!?!:sorry: The sooner I get off track the better.:wheel:
I'd get off the track as quickly and safely as possible, let the track workers do their thing. You don't need to add to the confusion/distraction to them, or other riders. I think what Chris did was right. He kept it up, got his mind right, and looked for a safe point to get out of there.
Keep the flow going and let the corner workers do their job..... Look before getting back on but never never stop.....
:amen: You have to remember that is an impact zone. You don't want to be hanging around in it. Make sure you are ok and your bike is sound. Look for a clear spot and re-enter the track, staying off the "race" line until you get up to speed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnyBlkoyzic Video of Novice group last session of the day (I think) This is where rchase lost his tranny. Battery on GoPro died 4 1/2 minutes in... Enjoy!
I was behind you when this happened. I was just entering T2 when I saw it unfold. I was not sure if you actually ran him over or just clipped his arm / leg as he tumbled. I thought you did a great job of avoiding a bigger disaster for both of you. When I saw it happening it was or seemed to be closer than it appears in the clip. I just kept thinking "don't look, keep turning": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7nCTDppscs
Watching it in slow motion, you can see the camera shift down when the rear wheel hits something and lifts up. Judging by his YouTube comment, I think he's fine, though. Nice job avoiding target fixation.
