thank you for the info. Is there any way to rent gear? Suit, gloves, boots, back protector, and helmet? My stuff is being shipped back home and I don't know if I'll get it on time
5' 9", 180lbs (my Alpinestar suit size is 54 european) boot size, I cannot remember, my shoes size is 44 european gloves is large helmet either large or extra large depending on brand. My AGV helmet is extra large. On the helmet size I'm very picky, so if don't have multiple sizes to try, I will probably just buy a new one.
I'm 5'10" and about 185lbs so my extra suit would probably fit just a bit loose on you. It's a 44/54. Have a pair of used Sedici large race gloves and a pair of Built boot size 42/8. Can't help you on the helmet, I have a small head, lol! I will be there Saturday.
paul, I will definitely make use of your suit, gloves and back protector. Are you gonna be there only Saturday? I'm actually not sure to be able make it yet, I'm working hard to make it. Thank you so much! So the STT rental service is not in place anymore? Last year they had it...
Yes, I am only there for the Saturday ride. Arriving Friday night at the Motel 6 in Cloverdale and heading home afterwards. If you need the gear for Sunday, no problem. You can just throw it in a box and ship it back to me, I live in St. Louis. Hope you find a way to make it....
I have a Shoei RF1000 helmet should work, unless you can try it on before hand you may just want to pick one up. I'm 6' 4" so it's definitely a large helmet.
We rent suit's only, the form is here. But fill it out ASAP if you still need one https://www.sportbiketracktime.com/index.php?route=information/leatherRental
Well I just bought a bike so I'm definitely coming. yea, bring it please I think I will end up buying one but yours can come handy. I'll let you know anyways so you won't carry it for no reason. Thank you so much to you guys! Love the STT family!
thanks evil twin. I also have another question: I'm trying to involve my girlfriend in track days but she is hesitant. I convinced her to come on the bike with me for couple of sessions. How does it work for two ups? is there any specific rule? does she need to pay the track day? any particular restriction? thanks, Guido
I don't think 2ups are allowed at Putnam, track specific rule. Hopefully someone else will confirm, I don't have the best memory!
The only time I saw two up was last weekend at Autobaun. If STT allows it imagine it would be OK at Putnam. IMO, it might be better to have her stay for the riders meeting, go to the Novice class and watch the track sessions. I would find having a passenger a bit of challenge and thinking about being one, just doesn't have an appeal. If Novice runs like most the only excitement will be one or two run off's, it's the other groups that tend to have incidents.
You gonna come up north for this one Marc? If not, I won't be seeing you till Little Tally costumer appreciation day.
Unless something has changed since 2014 you are correct. I know Putnam was one of 2 tracks I knew of that didn't allow 2ups (Jennings GP being the other). There could be another one somewhere but that's the two I have definitely heard had that rule.
