PLEASE NOTE OUR ON TRACK SCHEDULE: Saturday: 9am-12pm, 1pm-5pm (ie: normal) Sunday: 8am-10am, 12pm-5pm (ie: not normal) This is to accommodate quiet time on Sunday. On Sunday we will have registration and tech open at 6:45am, and rider's meeting will be at 7:30am. For people riding Sunday only: we will have registration and tech open Saturday evening for about an hour or so.... so if you are arriving Saturday night for Sunday, we would encourage you to register and tech Saturday night. If you are riding both days, then the registration and tech you do Friday eve / Saturday morning is good for the whole weekend. You must still come to the Sunday rider's meeting! Ok... with that out of the way: Gates will open at approx 6pm on Friday and stay open till 10pm, re-open Saturday 7am until 10pm, and open again 7am Sunday. We ride R*** or shine, come prepared. There is a $5.00 gate fee per day for anyone entering 16 years of age or older at all Sportbike Track Time events. BRING SOME CASH WITH YOU. Camping is allowed and I don't think they charge for it. We are using the "old" turn twelve and no chicane at turn two-three. We are using the "old" (outside) pit area with chalet being used for sign up and tech and tires. There is very little 30 or 50 amp power in Road Atlanta's pits. 15 amp only, so if you are bringing a motor home or fun mover be pre-paired to gennerate. Tire service will be open from 6-9pm Friday, all day Saturday, 7am-3pm Sunday. We bring over 100 tires to each event at killer prices, if you need tires, wait till you get there. We also have lap timers, back protectors and gloves with us at great prices. Gas is available at the track, its race gas and pricey, there is a jiffy mart thingy about 2 miles from the track. Showers are available. GMD will be doing chassis and suspension setup at this event, as Superbike Ken blew us off for the all-girls day at Grattan - go figure. Pets are allowed but MUST be on a leash at all times. Please "clean up" after your pets. Any questions?, post up here please.

Re: Water I have read a few articles on the subject and this quote pretty much sums up everything I found... Don Baylor, Manager of the Chicago Cubs and avid Penta water drinker, agrees. "For hot and muggy days, you have to prepare beforehand," Baylor says. "Hydration is definitely needed in our sport and I know that football players and all athletes that exert a lot of energy, need to hydrate. When the heat index is going to be very high, I start pumping players with water one day before or even two days before."
Like Baseball players sweat... Give me a friggin break... They are sitting for half the freaking game then just standing there waiting for a ball to come out of the sky... Rule of thumb... If your not constantly peeing your not hydrated.. Weds-1-gallon Thurs-1.5-2 Gallons Fri-2 Gallons SAT SUN MIX WATER /GATORADE ALL DAY.... Last Year we had several staff members including myself suffer from Dehydration.. It gets Hot there...Especially when changing tires... In Leathers.... Dont start drinking water on Sat AM and think you can be fine... You wont...
That quote was only an example I chose instead of posting 20 links that basically say you are FOS!!
Maybe these will help. http://my.clevelandclinic.org/disorders/dehydration/hic_avoiding_dehydration.aspx http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/nutrition/a/aa011599a.htm http://www.therapeuticassociates.com/wp-content/uploads/SL_ATC_hydration.pdf
None of those describe the activity we will be under... Some good info but again nothing about being in Leathers and on MC's that will be over 200 degree's... Oh and the Coffee being a dehydrant is not true in that Valley article..... That was proven wrong NAT GEO a few years back....
Thanks for all the info! I won a free spot on Sunday, first track day! I just wanted to confirm that there were leathers available for use/rent at the track. I don't own any unfortunately. 6', about 220 lbs. Probably need a 46 or 48. Not sure if I need to reserve one?
