Can help but wonder if we're not losing site of one thing I haven't seen mentioned in any of the posts. There were several red flag incidents with serious injuries. Without commenting on what precipated these crashes, it seems to me that the FIRST priority is the best possible care for these riders. No matter how long it takes. I hope everyone turns out to be OK and that there are no permanant injuries to anyone. Get well...
I heard rumor there where three runs to the hospital. Is that true? Ouch! Speedy recovery to the injured. Brad
If that's correct, I'm surprised that the delays weren't longer, as you can't ride the track without an ambulance present. Jim B GSXR 600 #99
Actually, after reading all the threads on a variety of different forums, that was one of the thoughts running through my head. Knowing how MMC likes to run its facilities, I would not doubt it. Any updates....
At one point there were two ambulances present. Probably one was the "track" ambulance and one was a "transport" ambulance.
AFAIK there were no delays because no ambulance was present. And I believe there were 3 transports thoughout the day. The delays were ON track as they assessed and stabilized. Not all Track Day providers have 2 ambulances standing by. And at MMC the hospital is relatively close. Again, hope all is well with the fallen riders.
STT always has 2 ambulances so if there is a transport we can all still ride. This is 1 of the reasons I joined STT 3 years in a row. I think it was mentioned in there website policeys somewhere. I am sure this cost STT more $. It does suck to wait for an ambulance to get back I have had to wait 3 times in 1 trackday before with a diffrent track org. That sucks to sit there in your leathers on the grid for 30 min when its 90 deg.
