Hey guys just figured out you had a forum!

I did my first STT trackday last summer I loved it. My CR was awesome ...he saw that I was the faster one in the B group and let me go after the first session. At the end The CR's said I should bump up to I. My question is since then I suffered a gunshot and a broke leg. (ANother Story). I am just getting back on the bike and want to get back on the track as soon as possbile. Would it be in my best interest to sign up for the B group again just to get the feel of the track since it has been several month since I have been on the bike? I know this is a stupid question but some opinions variey and wanted to hear them. THanks!

Sounds like a good plan. You can volunteer yourself for one of the faster Novice groups & ease your way back into things at a comfortable pace. You & your instructor will be able to tell when you're ready to move back into the Intermediate group.

See what happens when you F with Mary?

Seriously man, glad to hear you are getting back into shape and getting back on the bike. I agree with starting in the B group for your first time back for several reasons. For starters, you are coming off a very traumatic event and just getting used to being on the bike again. Secondly, a broken leg is a serious injury that will take some time to heal completely. Even though it may have healed by the time your first track day rolls around, you may still have some discomfort the first time you put serious weight on it again.

Anyway, that's just my .02. You can always get bumped. :D

I completely agree. I think I will B group it and just have some fun! Thanks guys. Also...Is it absolutley imperitaive that I show up to all of the after track lessons. Notsaying that I wont but didnt know ...say....after lunch and IF I am back at it to just bypass it. Dont flame too bad. I really dont mind it but damn the last time I was in B group I was wore out by the end of the day.

We're always working on making the classroom sessions go as efficiently as possible. If you get into one of the first couple of groups at the end of the first classroom session, your instructor might be able to streamline things, if the experience level of the group allows him to. There's always good info to be had in the classrooms though. Especially if you're just getting back in the saddle. I've been instructing several years now & I'll still pick up on things during classroom sessions that remind me to work on something that had slipped my mind. Sometimes it's even me saying it, reminding myself to practice what I preach.
