I am in the market for a set of short cuff gloves. For the track I have a pair of full gauntlet Dainese Full Metal RS gloves and a new set of the Knox Handroids. Last year, my first year of riding in ~20 years, I purchased a pair of Dainese X-Strike gloves. I really liked them but, the palms were completely shredded after just 6 months of riding (no falls, no rain, just normal usage). At $200 a pair, I won't be buying them again.

My question goes out to anyone who has a pair of short cuff gloves that they believe to be highly protective and KNOWS hold up over time. I've check Revzilla and STG but most all of the comments I see are made by people shortly after they get the gloves, not after many months of usage. If a pair of gloves is only going to last 6 months then the price needs to be less than $100 (imho). So, I am ok with short-life gloves, but I want a price that matches. What I prefer are long-life, highly protective gloves - and then I'll pay what they ask. So, my question is - does anyone know of any short-cuff gloves that are protective and durable?

I'm a high mileageish commuter in all weather. I've been very pleased with all the Rev!t gloves I've ever had. My favorites are the H2O series. I've got the summer and the heavier lined winter ones. My only "complaint" is that the lining on the cold weather ones doesn't stay completely in place if your hands get sweaty wearing them in warmer weather. That's after about a year or so of wear though.

Happy to answer any questions. Just pm me. :)

I would go to some MX forums and see what they say on some brands...

I bought a pair of Scorpion SGS Gloves and they've held up really well. Roughly 10k miles on em so far and hardly any wear showing.

I feel like 6 months of normal, non abusive use is too little for your gloves. i'd try maybe emailing them and seeing if its normal or not. they might even warranty them out for you!
