There've been quite a few tales of GoPros coming loose at high speed and knocking or almost knocking people off their bikes. I think it's a tech requirement now to fasten your GoPros, so here's a quick DIY:

I'm u sing a bike-specific CycleMount camera mount. Drill a small hole into the frame of your go pro housing. The hole should be very small...just big enough to allow a 1/16 " wire cable to pass through it. Make sure the drilled hole will not interfere with the go pro mount. Thread the hole with a 1/16" cable wire and fasten using a crimping sleeve. I bought the crimping sleeves from Amazon and crimped it with a set of pliers.
The other end is looped using another crimping sleeve and crimped with pliers. Now pass a key chain ring through the loop The other end of the key chain is fastened to a go pro tether mount (this allows you to remove camera from bike as needed without having to cut the cable).

Here's a video of me at National Corvette Museum Raceway last month. The video is recorded using the above camera mount plus a rear facing camera for a PIP effect. With the settings button, you can playback at twice the speed for a really cool effect...what MotoGP riders would look like at normal speed :nod:
