There's been a lot of complaining about companies lately on most of the boards I frequent (WERA, Speedzilla, Cycleforums, etc). Most of it revolves around poor customer service. Thought I'd mention 3 positive experiences I had the last couple days: (1) SportBikeTrackGear: went by the store on Saturday to check it out. I tried on a bunch of gear, got Helise a new liner for her Shoei (way cheaper than buying a new helmet) and myself a pair of Held Phantom Gloves. The guys were very friendly, super helpful and knew their stuff. Best part is they are local. It would be great if they decided to carry the Komodo line. (2) Armour Bodies: I've been having trouble getting bodywork for my new bike (out of stock, not yet available, junk, etc). The owner of Armour Bodies called this morning and "squeezed" me in. The bodywork is going to delivered on the 20th, well in time for the Grattan Test & Tune. (3) CycleCat: every dealer I've gone to has been out of stock on the rearset parts I need. Cyclecat emailed me this morning that they have the parts in stock (just not enough to send to any dealers). When I called they sold me the parts at dealer cost saving me $200, which will cover the cost of a pair of Held Phantom gloves for Helise.
So cycle cat sold you the parts at dealer cost; Gee, I wonder why dealers don't have them in stock?
Thanks for the mad props Did you like the HELD gloves? They are like no others! Of course you're totally spoiled now Monte Lutz
Yes, the gloves are excellent! What I really like about the Held gloves is the wide range of sizes available which allows you to get an almost custom fit. It also means Helise can get high quality glove without having to resort to a mens glove that fits poorly.
Well, I guess I spoke to soon. I received the rearset parts from CycleCat and they are the wrong parts, the wrong color AND they are going to charge me a 10% restocking fee to return them. :? Guess it is time to try a different brand. So, a slight correct to my previous post: STG good; Armour Bodies good; Cyclecat not so good.
