Supposed to be cold tonight, into the 20's brrr. At what temp do you have to start worrying about motors freezing?
0c, 32* F or whatever you have your antifreeze ratio set at with water/water wetter (still zero), or engine ice protects to -27 F. did that just for you my canuck friend. Ski
I woke up to some snow in the yard! Man that sucks I hope its not as bad on the track! Good luck to all of you out there today.
I'm in the garage with the heater blasting. They still have not let bikes on the track because of ice. LOL!
4/20 Yeah, Saturday was interesting to say the least. It had been 4 years since my last track day, and I was on a bike that I had not ridden yet (Triumph Speed Triple). I have to say that seeing Mike out scraping ice off of the track in T6 was a little more than un-nerving. Once it warmed up to 29*, it wasn't too bad, LOL! I am still glad that I signed up for Novice, and a huge thanks to Justin for doing a great job coaching our group of 2 riders. Seriously though, the only thing that was really cold out on the track was my hands, and the bike handled surprisingly well considering. It looked like a better day on Sunday. Hope everybody else had as much fun as I did, even if the track would only let us go 1/2 speed. See you at the next one.
Definitely a lot of firsts this weekend.... first time scraping ice off a track two days in a row. First time seeing the infield pond on the back straight, and the lake on the outside of the bus stop less than 10' off track. First time using salt to prep the track. All in all, it was a decent weekend for what it was. It was nearly incident free despite the temps and track conditions. Thanks for all who came out, and I look forward to 3 weeks from now!
Sunday ended Being a pretty good day. You guys did a excellent job getting the track ready for us to ride on. Thanks
That pic is funny. And the only time I worked up a sweat all weekend! Kozy, Tim, Mike and I spent about an hour out there getting the track rideable. Yes, that is a combination of ice melter and ice on the track and piled up next to the apex cone. There was a lot of water in the grass there so we couldnt do anything to stop the river from flowing.
You seemed to handling the Triumph well. Once I got over the gunshots you kept sending my way, I was able to settle down and have a pretty good time--ice and all.
LOL, sorry about that. I guess that is pretty common on the S3 when you replace the stock exhaust. I have to eliminate the Secondary Air Intake and it should go away. Hope to see you out there again.
