I on't havea lap timer so just ask the guy in font of me what he was doing and take five seconds off of that. So I'm doing consistant 1:23's using my system...

1:30+/- in Advanced. A little over if its chilly or I'm not pushing it. Under if its warm/dry & I'm Feelin' It.

    1:26.55 personal best.

1:30.13 personal best counterclockwise, chasing Monte.(Which is the most fun you can have at Grattan with your clothes on! )

1:37's consistantly on a 600 is good enough for the Advance group and likely will allow you even better times once you get out of the Intermediate group traffic. I too am one of those Intermediate group "kings" who would rather practice passing all day in the Inter group than being passed, at high speed, on my 600 in the Advance group. My buddies in the A group keep urging me to move up (so they can have someone to pass!). Currently running in the 1:28's but know that is in traffic, and depending on where the Inter group bunches up at Grattan it can really throw the pace. Looking forward to making the move up soon. Need some more 600's in the A group for me.

I'd been running similar pace to John C, my personal best is a 1:37 But my last full day at grattan, I was putting down consistent 1:38-1:39's.

1:28 will put you in the middle of the A group. I'd say you're definately ready to move up! As a snapshot in time, I'm running '29's consistantly and a 28.5 was my best. But, let's not forget why we go to trackdays. Lap times to me are just a measurement and record of rider skill improvement, which is what it's all about right? Someone could say to me that they're running 1:23's all day long. So what. What was their time at the last trackday, or the year before. Have them follow you around for a few laps and get some pointers. I'd love to run 23's and someday it will happen. But first I need to work on 27's, then 26's etc... This thread would be better if it were titled "how many seconds did you shave off your best time in one day?" Fast times are impressive without a doubt, but untill you're close to the track record, skill improvement is where it's at.

    Ouch

You are right Lance! :? Freudian slip thinking 1:28 instead of the reality of 1:38's. Got the bike and the new shock dialed in and a decent set of Michelins so we will see how it goes this weekend. After Beaver Runa and Autobahn I'm ready to get back to Grattan.

    Up front

I agree. In the past I was reluctant to line up in front and then spent most of the session getting to clear track. Lance was one of the guys who started urging me to move up front. Now it's clear from the start with a couple of guys going past but mostly open track and catching up the back markers or guys going on late. More laps, better rhythm, faster times. Look for you up front.

Consistant 1:24's and a couple a few 1:23's during the last WERA round a couple weeks ago. It was the first time back at that track in four years and thos times will only get you mid pack in a WERA event. A few more times and hopefully I can get back into the low 20's
