I have an '06 SVS and I currently have it setup with race tech gold valves and springs, bike rides great at the track.

I know the GSXR front end swap looks bad ass, adds radial brakes, fine tuning suspension ect... BUT isn't the front end 10mm shorter? i was looking at the 04/05 gsxr 600/750 setup. I dont see many SV's at the track with the gsxr front end.

My bike is 99% track use and just wondered if the front end swap is worth it for track use... i figure the complete swap is gonna be around $800'ish and that will buy quite a few track days.

    I run "I" group FWIW.

My guess is that you don't see a lot of race SVs with that front end because it makes it a superbike instead of superstock, and track day SV guys won't spend $800 on a front end for a $3500 bike.

I would say that you would get better feel and the ability to fine tune the front end with the upside down forks, but I am not sure how much good that is really going to do you running intermediate pace.

You can replace your stock brake with a radial master and remote reservoir without changing the front end.

I think my stock front end with emulators and springs works and feels great. I have recently bought some wave rotors and Vesrah brake pads and my braking markers moved back a ways. Next step is a radial master.

I think that you would have better results for the money, if not already done, to get a rear shock, pipe, power commander, maybe think about an F3 rear wheel (.5" wider), Aluminum subframe or any of the other trick parts available (here are some http://www.brgracing.com/sv650.html), rearsets, race body work, lighter fairing bracket, etc.

or as I am sure that someone is going to bring up, and I will disagree with... get a 600 :)

Sounds like I will stick with my current setup and buy more track days!!! :D

I have had a few people already tell me to just buy the 600........... I can't, I love the feel of my twin!
