<rant_on> "big two wheel slides...." "pushing the front into every corner...." "spinning up the rear...." how come when i passed you i didn't see that (and i wasn't sliding anything...) just sayin'. carry on. <rant_off>
Do you like sliding your tires? I do not like sliding my tires, Jig-I-am. I do not like sliding my tires. Would you slide them here or there? I would not slide them here or there. I would not slide them anywhere. I do not like sliding my tires. I do not slide them, Jig-I-am. Would you slide them in a house? Would you slide them with a mouse? I do not slide them in a house. I do not slide them with a mouse. I do not slide them here or there. I do not slide them anywhere. I do not slide my tires. I do not slide them, Jig-I-am. Would you slide them in a box? Would you slide them with a fox? Not in a box. Not with a fox. Not in a house. Not with a mouse. I would not slide them here or there. I would not slide them anywhere. I would not slide my tires. I do not slide them, Jig-I-am.
I've been sliding my rear tire on the TT600, but not intentional. it just slips sometimes. They aren't good track tires though. I definitely prefer grip to sliding!
Re: i'm so tired of hearing people say they slide their tire Ha. I was sliding my front and rear just last weekend. The front would push through the middle of turn 8 at Jennings and I'd hold the bike up a bit with my foot. The rear would spin up out of turn 10 and on a good lap would spin and rotate the bike almost all the way through the 10 and 11 combination. It ended up trashing the rear tire by the end of the day but that was my 5th day on the tire. And you would have been hard pressed to pass me in either place! Get a supermoto if you want to slide. A real one though, not one of those 600 something cc bikes with a speedo and stereo or whatever else is on there. Except for the KTM all the real ones will have kickstarters. You'll really slide when you run the same slicks through the dirt section and jumps. I agree with your statement in general though. Why does everybody insist on having 600s and 1000s out there before learning to ride and slide around smaller bikes? Smaller bikes are physically less tiring to the new riders that want more track time. The tires last longer. It is less initmidating to learn to get more out of the smaller bike. I can crash mine, stand it up and carry on like nothing happened 95% of the time. There are tons of reasons to just ride smaller bikes. This is America where you can buy what you want when you want though. Doesn't work like that elsewhere though. Gotta work your way up the ladder a bit in other countries.
Re: i'm so tired of hearing people say they slide their tire uh-huh. maybe you misread my title to say...tell me ALLLLLL about how bad ass you are and how you much you slide your tires. my bad. edit: oh, and jesse, i actually love you. in a bromosexual kinda way.
How'd I not notice that?? I hear about it but the only time I really see it is just before a crash, sliding that is,.I did spin mine up once, but it was raining out.
pushin the front ---- Old pic . needs some bigger springs in the forks Seriously .. with a 425 # rear spring and stock forks it pushed bad , could feel the front tire scrubbinng it T2 at Putman and the carosel at RA . could not dial it out .Bowl at Gratten was scary . .95 springs and valves fixed it . Miss that 600
