At this last weekends race at Hallett, Ok Jake was the only Honda entered in the 600 and 750 class races. Having only raced there 3 years ago on a 125, Jake was quickly up to speed. But, having no points in the sanctioning CMRA series, he was relegated to starting back on the 8th, 9th, and 8th rows of his races. With CMRA top rider Dustin Dominguez (finished 3rd at the Mid-Ohio AMA race) on the pole, Jake had his work cut out. The first 2 races, Jake came from the back to finish just over 3 seconds behind winner Dominguez for 2nd place. In the 3 race, Jake came from 20th positon on the start to 2nd place by time they got to the first green flag right on the leaders back wheel. After a race long battle with Jake setting 5 of the 8 laps with fastest times, Jake again finished 2nd by a scant .020 seconds. His 1:17.021 was only 1.6 seconds off the absolute track record set by Ty Howard on his KTM 1000.

That is absolutely freakin' impressive. I've raced with Dustin and he flat out flies! To start that far back and get that close, this boys got something!

Good luck, Jake, we'll be watchin' ya all the way!

    Amazing.

I gotta head up the road and see what they're putting in the water up in Princeton. :)

That's as close as I was to Dustin in T4 of the first lap (only because I had the pole and he started from the back!). Then, I never saw him again :).

In my mind, I would have called that a win :)

Cool stuff! What number is he running at Indy?

Couple of the Cmra regulars challenged Dustin to start on the back with Jake and he replied,"NO way!" I actually got an email from Ty Howard today stating how impressed he was and that he stayed till the end of the day to watch the CSB race. Jake will be running his #85 at Indy. He will be in the last race on Saturday and the first race on Sunday. Tdub
