Just got back from a great weekend at Tally. Heat was brutally hot with track temps at 130 degrees. Jake won the MW 20 Solo by 10 seconds over ex redbull rookies Gillim and Mormon, and Tally local White. Crashed out of the HW 20 lapper while dicing it up with Opie Caylor. Sunday Jake ran 3 sprint races...600 SS , 600 SB, and 750 SS. Jake took 2nd in 600SS. The 750 race was awesome to watch as Jake took the early lead in front of Caylor and Merck. Lap 5 saw Caylor pass Jake on the back straight, but a 1/2 lap later Jake put it under Opie in the 90s. But he lost the lead again on the next straight. Jake ended up taking 2nd by less than 1/2 second to Caylor. 600 SB Jake started from the 3rd row but by lap 3 was in the lead and finished 5 seconds ahead of second. Highlights of the weekend....1)seeing Caylor congratulate Jake on a great race and commenting to him he was glad he wasn't on a 750! 2) Getting down to the high .57s while chasing White in 600SB.
