has anyone attended the December Jennings trackdays? whats the weather like around that time of year? temp? i thought i heard there is a decibal limit for exhausts cause a local farmer was complaining? hows the track? worth the long haul from st louis? grip? abrasive on tires? any info - good bad etc would be appreciated thanks
Yes. Cooler, but not freezing night time temp. Days are quite enjoyably warm but not hot. I think the limit is 103dB but check the jennings gp website to be sure. It is one of Draik's favorite tracks, fast flowing turns and very technical tight stuff too. Flat as a pancake and good grip. We've only been there on little bikes but the tire wear is easy on them. Yes, it's a trackday in December, an opportunity to get out of the St. Louis winter...of course it's worth the haul. You should convince Greg Kotlinski to come down too and you guys could carpool...
Would probably hate it, I would stay home. All kidding aside it is a fun little track. Facilities are pretty spartan. Decent amount of power. Weather can be chilly by Florida standards at night(I live here my blood has thinned). Usually not much chance of rain as it is the beginning of the dry season down here. As Boater said above flat, with good grip, flowing sections, technical sections.
Great place for the Fire pit at night.... Track is grippy and fun.... I am planning on it this year for sure... They also have the nicest Gate Guard in the World!!
I was going to say something similar! I'm trying to minimize my off season this year. Keep me posted if you consider going. It's certainly in the back of my mind.
I went last December. Very fun track! Plan on going through 1 rear a day. I found it was very abrasive on tires. The temp got down to 30 at night but warmed up to a very nice 70 during the day. Make sure you try the chicken wrap if you go. It was probally the best chicken wrap I've had!
Marc, Greg, Samm.. Let's go!! If you all come down (Except Marc because he's local) feel free to stay at my place in GA for some rest and we can all drive down to FL together from there the following day. Juan
Bottom line, yes, it's worth going! I'll be there Friday night through Sunday. Too bad STT isn't doing a backward track day on Sunday. It's even more worthwhile to go for one of those events since you get two tracks in on weekend, also helps keep tire wear even. I'm sure if enough riders wanted this to happen that STT would be kind enough to do it so speak up!
The Hell with Jennings then.... I vote for24 Hr Pit Bike Moto-x Endurance around the new Crib!!!!! You need landscaping anyhow!
Even better, I need some brush cleared in the way back of the yard.. It will be a hill climb race too! :thumb:
GA! When did this happen? Now it makes sense where you were hanging out recently. I can take 5-7 bikes from STL. Split gas and maybe take 1 additional car? Start thinking about it.
I moved here about 2.5 months ago. Was done with the weather up North and now I'm closer to the ocean  Let me know what you all decide, and we can start to put some plans together.
im off friday morning at 6am, can be ready to go by 7am ... already used some PTO days to get off work the rest of the weekend thru wednesday .. im in lets do it
