Well, it was great to be back at my favorite track. However, the weather just didn't cooperate. While Saturday afternoon was awesome for the AMA races, it rained everyday afterwards. It is always difficult for me to put a positive spin on rain, but we were able to work on being smooth in the rain. It wasn't until Sunday when we were rewarded with a partly sunny afternoon. The speeds went up and so did the smiles.

For me, big thanks to Greg and Shadow Video. I had him follow me around, videoing my every move. I was then able to see my lines and body position. I found out that I was sitting up while I was riding (wouldn't have believed it if you told me). Greg also gave me several suggested lines that were faster. The next session, I was able to make faster laps. Big smiles. :p I recommend it to everybody. It is an excellent tool for analyzing and improving a person's riding. I plan on having another video done at the end of the season to see if improvements have been made in my riding.

Concerning the track, I liked the improvements to turns one, five, and the Billy Mitchell Bridge. Turn one is much smoother. The "famous" bump is hardly noticeable now. In turn five, the rumple strip is no longer painted. This was of benefit in the rain. When I ran wide, I didn't have to worry about sliding when appying power on the tiger teeth. The bridge was also gone. It took me all weekend to get used to entering that corner. I didn't realize how much I relied on the bridge as a reference point. All day, I was trying to get that corner right . . . still working on it.

In any case, the weekend was a good one. It was my first AMA race (wow, those guys are really fast). I hope to see everyone at Road America in July . . . a whole week!! Just leave the rain home. 8)

Thank's so much Rudy.It was really rewarding to see your face after you went back out next session after viewing your video. That's what it's all about,I could see you beeming, and it is fun to have a major shift in one day without riding over our head's to try to improve. That is what video doe's for us.We are all past customer's,so we know the benefit's of it and we all are having alot of fun meeting new people and being a part of their maturation proccess.Big thank's to Monte and Bonnie for allowing us to do this!!
