Does anyone have some feedback on laptimers? Do you recommended them? Best brand? Is it easy to install? Much appreciation for your future assistance!

I like the XT timers. Mine's worked great forever. STT sells them for $175.

Mounting's a sinch... Take the timer. Place it on your tail section. Cut yourself 6" of duct tape. Apply duct tape.

Sure you COULD get more fancy with it... but that works. Some people like their timer's display where they can see it while riding. Not me. I'm going to ride as fast as I comfortably can ride. The last thing I need is to come around a lap and see 1:20.04 and get greedy and push myself to see a 1:19 and go toss my bike away in T1. I'll see my lap times after I come off the track, and I'll be happy knowing I went as fast as I comfortably could, even if it wasn't quite as fast as I was hoping for.

Did you have them take a few seconds off while they were at it?

You probably only need to get the receiver. I have never been to a STT trackday where someone did not have a transmitter and tripod.

Something to think about, I have seen a helmet visor heads up display where you can see your speed, tach, lap time, radar detector signal ?.in the corner of the shield. If you think you may want something along those lines, I would check which lap timer work with it.

Otherwise an XT is what most of us have, plus you can get help showing how to use it.
