Random question. I live in Northern NJ. I went down last year and got some rash on my leathers. I was actually very happy the way my Frank Thomas suit held up. No rips or tears, but I need a small section in my leg to be re-stitched. I've gone to a lot of leather repiar/dry cleaners in the area, but nobody says they can fix it because of the inside mesh lining. The damage is quite minor, so I'm pretty surprised by this. Anybody from this area that knows of a good repair place? Thanks for any help.

Is she in Wisconsin??? How much does it cost to ship your suit out there and back? I believe you both that she's really good....but my suit is only a couple hundred bucks. Don't want to spend 1/2 of that just to get a little bit of re-stitching.

    go to http://www.spyderleatherworks.com/

and give her a call. you might email her pictures showing what's broken if you can't explain it over the phone.

i always just drove there, but friday i fedexed ground something 5 lbs for a little over 10 bucks. can't be much more...
i think to send forks it's about $25, so somewhere in between...

has anyone found a local shop?
There has GOT to be somewhere in the greater NY/NJ area that repairs leathers....I'm with the first poster- too cheap to spend 40$ round trip postage to get 40$ worth of minor stitching done...

FWIW, your best bet is to use one of the specialists like Alexa or Lizzy.

if you take it to a momandpop leather shop that usually is working on cowboy boots and western saddles, you're in for trouble. they don't know the importance of stitching in motorcycle leathers!!!

i've sent mine to Alexa for several years with zero issues. i have crashed on her repairs and walked away with no problems.
