No brakes off the front straight... Just setup in my seat to get a wide view, grab a downshift and flick it in then right back to WOT to Banzai down the hill! I was having a tremendous amount of fun learning how to ride a bike with no power. There was a guy out in Advanced on a R3 running about 2 seconds quicker, I wanted to go out and tag along with him but I was coaching Novice and coaching a guy in Intermediate... Was running out of juice fast! plus I was out of fuel!
Taking everyone's advice and working on getting an SV650. If things work out I should be picking it up July 10th
Try before you buy, I'd give some thought to any 600 as well. Get on the 650 and a 600 and see if you're comfortable, lot's of room to grow with a 600.
If you're riding an FZ1 right now then such a small bike will feel weak and uninspired. I'd go with a middle weight or a 750. If the aggressive riding position doesn't turn you off then a late model Triumph 675 would be a sweet ride for the track.
Thanks for all the info. I did get that SV650, but I got it to help me learn more then I did to just jump into track riding. I figure that when I feel I am ready to upgrade, my boys will be about the age to start riding (on dirt bikes now) and I can pass the SV on to them. This has been a great place for me to read up on all sorts of things and I greatly appreciate all the input everyone has on this site, Thanks again
Just an update of the SV, working on suspension parts then I just need to get some time off for a good track day lol.
