How's Autobahn? How does it compare to my one frame of reference, Putnam Park? Putnam is an hour away, is Autobahn worth the drive? *bummed that Mid-Ohio is sold...guess I could sign up for advanced...yeah right...
Autobahn; Superb! Compared to Putnam, Autobahn is very comparable in pavement. In my opinion, it is more technical being that is was designed by the same designer of Gingerman. When you run full course few compare in the thrill. Worth the drive for sure. The grounds and people are wonderful. Total bonus you can camp there. See yu on the track!
North course is much more technical and tighter ,Think late apex or turn in real late . Only a few bumps South is Faster,very rough (although they have worked on it) Very stop and go compared to fast flowing Putnam . T8 & T9 Autobahn north remind me of T9- T10 Putnam Full course rocks !
Putnam is my favorite track. Ironically, I'm three hours from Putnam and 40 minutes from Autobahn! A-Bahn is a very different place from Putnam, but plenty of fun. North side is short, but flows very much like Putnam. South is point-and-shoot. Full-course Mondays are sublime, lurid fun! If you're coming from Indiana, use 41 instead of 57 to save 50 miles each way! Putnam to A-Bahn is about 200 miles if you pick the right route. Use the main 4-lanes and add 70-80 miles each way. I really like the Autobahn North course, and when they run the full course that is a ton of fun also. I hope you choose to make it out to Autobahn, I look forward to seeing you there!
