Does any one still run the pilot powers. I have been running the 2 ct's which like. Because I have been using my bike on street and track. I know have track only bike. I notice the reg pilot powers are cheaper. Are they softer ? I see no need for 2 ct's for trackdays. Am I wrong. I am not running warmers yet. And I don't think I am fast enough for slicks yet. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Chris
+1. They were my favorite tire for coaching until i tried the power pures! They're still hard to beat for the money!
Power Ones are a good race & track tire with no need for tires warmers. I also rode a SV650 in the rain and dry with the Power Pures and both tires are good. I feel the Pures will last longer.
I'm running PPs and like them a lot. They've seen two partial wet days and three dry days this year and still have 3 or 4 days left in them. I think I'm gonna try those Power Pures next!
so as a 'new to michelin' guy....: pilot powers: great trackday grip with long, long life power race: trackday/race tire power pure: replaces the power race? educumate an old pirelli guy.
I'd argue that the Power One's were a replacement for the Power Race tires. The Pure's are enhanced Pilot Power's.
so if you ranked them by all-out dry grip...would you say: pilot powers pilot pures power race power one ??
Personally, I fond the Power Pures have more grip than the power Races, although I've never used the PRC fronts. I'm more confident trailing on the Power Pure than I ever was on a Power Race. They remind me of the pirelli Dragon Super Corsa's albeit, slightly more stable.
Pures ftw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! running race on my bike now... they take awhile to warm up but once hot, they are sticky like sushi rice!!! LOL!
MO!! Where you been? Are you going to make it out for one more track day? I know wayy ahead of time that I can't make the 10/11 day due to work (SUX!!!!), so I'm probably done except for a closer track, maybe. Oh, btw, I used 2CTs on my street/track '02 R1 and they were GREAT! Very surprised and impressed by the grip with my first liter bike experience at MMC N and 66. Mike
