April 28th will be my first time riding at Mid-Ohio, so I apologize if this is a newbie question. Does STT run the chicane after turn 1? Thanks!!

Thanks, that's what I was guessing. The youtube video I watched had the chicane. I'm really excited, if you can't tell by me trying to work out the track in my head a month ahead of time.

If we run the whole track then we use the chicane.

We did do 1 trackday where we did not use the whole track and turned right just after turn 1. The whole staff agreed this layout sucked (compared to using the whole track) and we discussed not doing that again.

Hey seven158, the 28th will also be my first time to Mid-Ohio. I was a VIR junkie back in VA and just moved to MI.We should hook-up at the track and turn a few laps? I ride the advanced group but I will also be a newbie to the track.

My name is Rennick and I will be in a new white F150 with a small gray encosed trailer with a blue & yellow R1,track bike.#153

Have a safe trip and I'll see you the 28th I'm going to try and get there around noon.

The shortened Mid Ohio was tricky cool, in my book. Just where you'd normally be on the gas exiting one, you'd jump the brakes instead, and actually transition the bike left to right while on the brakes. Man, THAT is a tricky operation. it was also my first day with the SBS dual carbon brake pads, and I loved the challenge of simultaniously learning to exploit the best brakes I've ever tried in the trickiest braking area I've ever seen! I had a few dicy moments there.... It made me nuts figuring out where the reference points were, because they're all out on the pavement somewhere, but by lunchtime I could pull anybody through that section.

My only dislike with the shortcut is that bloody concrete wall at the exit. The big U-turn of the shortcut begs you to spin the rear out from under you or highside, and if you do....

When all is said and done, I like the full layout better. But the shortened layout does give you three or four extra trips through the back side per session, and that whole swooping up around down over under thing is just crazy nuts wicked cool in my book. Man, I'm smiling just thinking about it! I absolutely LOVE Mid Ohio.

welcome to Michigan. I'll be in intermediate, so i won't be able to turn laps with (and learn from) you on the track. I'll be down there with a bunch of guys from my club, DucsUnlimited, so stop by and hang out with us, we are all from SE Michigan. BTW, my name is Steve and I have a black and white 749.

You guys will love Mid-Ohio! It's even better since it got re-paved last year. Very smooth and just sweet.

I've got 5 days planned for August. I can't wait!
