Just wanted to say thanks for a great time Saturday. I was a little disgruntled about the oil spillage incident costing us a session (intermediate) but the fun I had later made up for it. Looking forward to seeing you guys again later this season.

I had a great time as well. I learned a whole lot and felt my confidence going up each session.

Thanks Mike for the imstruction and tips. (I was in Novice Group 4).

The oil spill could have killed the day but only cost everyone about 1 session or so. I was beat anyway after my first big ride day and track day.

I look forward to more days and learning more each time out.

Only question...When was the raffle? I forgot all about till this morning. :?:

    Hi Nate

I was your instructor on Saturday. Thanks for the feedback, we always like hearing from you guys (good or bad). Glad to see you had a good time and it sounds like you achieved both of the goals we mention: #1 having fun and #2 learn to be a better rider. That confidence thing really has a huge effect on being able to ride relaxed and smooth so safe to say those also improved. Hope to see you at another trackday.

I wasn't there on Saturday, but I was there on Sunday. I had a great time and I learned alot. Especially how technical a couple of those turns are by the back bridge. The first session I had butterfly's and they worked themselves out. The second session was a little better. The third session was great!! Everything felt smooth and I managed to somehow get my left knee down toward the end of it. I just noticed a funny vibration in my knee that suprised me. The 4th session I was where I made a boo boo. I was getting tired mentally by then and I somehow target fixated and went off into the grass on the right hander by the back bridge. I did save the bike though. I just kept it straight and laid off of the front brake and everything stayed up.(Whew!!) My fifth session I was nervous because of the grass thing and didn't feel as good. It was still fun though. At the end I felt myself lagging behind a bit. It was all a good learning experience and I look forward to going to Beaver Run on both Saturday and Sunday of Memorial day weekend. I was just giving an update on my first track day. :D Oh and by the way everything was run GREAT!!!!!

Oh and the two guys next to me on the Ducati and the BMW by the trailers were a help and cool to hang out with too. I hope to see you again.

    Thanks Kozy!

You gave me the best boost of confidence right at the end. My main goal was to work on having good form and being smooth while I rode. Overall speed or getting a knee down was not the goal.

You said I had good form and looked smooth!! Goal accomplished. I know speed will come in time.

Thanks again STT for a great event and time. Look forward to the next day and all my friends are jealous.

Although I still get amazed by my buddy who was riding the DRZ650. He rides the wheels off that thing!!

I would have to say that my goals were pretty much the same too. A couple moments were funner and a couple were nerve racking, but over all I learned just how important being smooth can be. ( I also learned how easy it is to lose focus when you get tired mentally....I think the track did that to me.)

Speaking of Beaverun there's a track day up there on the 7th, some BMW dealership is sponsoring it. I just requested the day off work so I hope to see some of you out that way. Back to Mid Ohio you brought up a good point, the control riders/ instructors are awesome and I'll definitely be back for more days with STT. Wish I had gotten the name of the guy who helped us out but I was overwhelmed with the whole experience and just not thinking. However if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have figured out the line and probably wouldn't have hit knee for the first time which led to the eventual destruction of a set of sliders throughout the course of the day. Thanks again guys you brought a big shit eatin grin to the face of at least one rider that remained throughout the weekend. :D

My error it's $125 if you didn't buy a bike there. Still cheap though.

Either way $125 is still a good deal.

And for those that can't make it to Beaver Run, Nelson's Ledges has a track day on this same day. It's put on by However it's $200. Last year they had Ducati's there you could test ride. Doesn't appear to be that way this year. Either way $200 is good for Nelson's since a normal track day there is like $300 or so.

If I read your location right, you are in Michigan which would make Nelson's closer than Beaver Run. If you look at a map, find Ravenna or Garrettsville. Those are the closest "big" towns nearby. Nelson's Ledges is on the map, but it's just a speck.

I went to this last year and had a great time. The track is just awesome and VERY fast. Not as technical as Mid-Ohio as far as cornering (IMO) but is kind of hard just because it's so fast.
