    Hey Guys,

Just became a member, and am planning to sign up for my first track day at Monticello! Anyone know if the Novice group is sold out yet? Just completed my apparel with boots and leathers so nothing's holding me back now! I've been to Monticello 4 days with my car, looking forward to checking it out on 2 wheels!

i too had been on the track with a car and that was incredible. when i went up this past memorial day weekend on the bike, it was unreal! 2 days on this track with 2 wheels will provide you with a totally different experience! the track is pretty technical and so much skill gets developed in you! i wish i could go those days too but cant take off work. enjoy it! you will be so glad you went!

hey mark i'll be coaching my first two days with STT and looking foward to it! Look for bright red suit and I'll try to work with you!

being that this is you're first track day just take it easy, and know that corners will come at u a lot fast than on the street. You're primary goal is to understand the race line, braking zones and ur cue cones to tip the bike in. After lunch time you want a understand of Body position cause as soon as you do pick the pace up in the future BP is crucial.

Make sure you get everything prep for tech as far as if you are running a street bike tape up lights, weights on the rims. Some people just pull in the mirrors but IMO it is just best to take them off in case you do go down.

Keep an open mind while in the classroom and whatever you have learned on the street try not to factor it on the track. People all the time claim to be "street" fast and feel that once they get on the track they will be expert racers. Just stay humble and realize you are going to get passed. But don't let that discourage you at all.

If you want you can check out my videos on Youtube - listed as Emosurfer1982 - I don't have a north course video due to my bike messing up last time I ran it but I do have the 66 which is the south and north together.

Alright well, if u have any questions on the track let me know and i'll see you out there!

    Tim,

'Preciate the insight. I have every intention of utilizing all the knowledge of any instructor who will give me the time of day. I have been riding 10 years, though I just got back on a bike in April after a 3 year lay off. I've gone over all the FAQs and what not so I believe my bike will be in proper track form when it gets there. I also think I'll be trailering it, so that'll be nice.

As an aside, I'm an instructor with the Audi Club of North America, so I'm looking forward to being an eager student once again! I've read the books, practiced the form, and am in no rush to push any limits (myself or the bike's) so I plan on having a safe and awesome time. See ya soon.

    Mark,
Keep one thing in mind and you'll be fine: everything that you know about the track and your car is totally different on a bike! ;) we brake way sooner and our lines are quite a bit different. Fortunately, we've got a great novice instruction program & you'll be in great hands. Welcome to the STT family!

    Tech?

How does tech inspection tend to go down? Do bikes tend to just blast right through a tech inspection, cuz cars tend to take awhile. Most people try and tech the night before at out Audi events. So the idea of 100+ bikes all trying to go through tech in the morning seems like it may be a cluster eff. Can anyone shed some light so I know what to plan for?

Tech will open at 7:15, you need to go through registration before you can tech. you must have your registration sticker on the motorcycle before going to tech. Registration stickers need to be on the upper portion on the motorcycle but not on front fender. Sticker must be visible from track side.

Tech moves quickly but get there before 8am.

a Number must be on all machines, numbers can be purchased at tire vendor for a few dollars each.

    see website for tech rules

see you there and have fun.
