@ Jacksondee - I saw this one! I was the guy right behind you. If it's any consolation, I thought you were doing well - I followed you for 2 laps and it definitely helped me to go faster. Hope you feel better, and can get that bike fixed!

Well thanks! I do feel much better this morning, headache gone, ribs and hip still sore.

How smooth and predictable did I look when I fell on my head?:crutch:

All the necessary parts are in the mail for full repair. Now just have to get in touch with a good welding shop.

    I had a STUPID moment

WELL I had another STUPID moment on the track !!!

We were at Calabogie for a 4 day stint on the track. I was riding with a gal from Quebec (we've ridden together before) and we were having a blast. Our times were getting better and more consistent. WOW right!!!

That day was a tough day within the Novice group. There were at least 15+ new riders to the track and they were causing some issues. intermediate was full so I couldn't change groups. There was one particular rider that was making me crazy all day long. Go like stink in the straights and park it in the corner. I almost went up his back side a few times. So using my head, I would make sure I went before or well after him in the line. It just seemed that I would always catch up to him and the frustration would start. I would get ahead of him in the straight and he would stuff me in the braking zone and then park it in the corner. This went on all day long (at least 8 people complained about his riding).

Well it's the last session of the day (clearly I'm tired at this point) and now I'm pissed off. My little gypsy voice told me to get off the track at turn 15, but NOOOOO, I didn't listen to it. Not a good combination ... tired, pissed, and not listening to my gypsy voice !!! So there he is again on the 5th lap of the last session!!! My brain just exploded. Soooo I decide I'm going to get right up his ass in the last set of turns, late apex and shoot up under him coming out of the turn on to the straight. WTF I have an S1KRR and he's on a Daytona 675. I'm thinking I'm brilliant at this point because I know he takes an early apex and goes wide, I'll take a late apex. Well I did just that. He took an early apex but then changed his line all of a sudden and went right in front of me as I was hitting the throttle, leaned over. Needles to say I had to lean more and didn't lift the bike. Lost the front end and then the back. Down on my hip, then my butt, then my head slammed in to the pavement, then my shoulder. I slide and then finally land in a poof of sand only to briefly notice there is another bike and rider coming at me ... HOLY CRAP !!! His bike grazed my elbow and he slid next to me. He had the exact same idea I had and knew what I was going to do. Well I messed up and ended up taking him with me. What a mess !!!

Good news -- I'm just bruised up and very sore -- other rider barely bruised -- I was right back on the bike for the next 2 days
Bad news -- lost the quickshifter and waiting for one to come from Germany -- Other bike, barely a scratch -- a little spooked, lost 12 to 15 seconds on my laps and have to start all over again

Moral of this story --- don't push it at the end of the day and pit out when you are frustrated (I KNOW TO DO THIS ... I ALWAYS DO THIS ... BUT NOT THAT DAY)

^Doesn't sound all that stupid...a bit dangerous, but if he changed his line unpredictably, there wasn't much you could do. The main question is how did you get yourself in that situation to begin with though?? You say he parked it in the corners, and you've got like 70 hp on him, so you should blow by him on the straights. How was he even able to get by you?? That sounds like an easy pass to make...do it on the straights and then leave him in the dust in the corners too.

THANK YOU. 'Pushing It' is what caused my problems too. Lesson learned.

I am glad you will heal, eventually. The 'soft tissue' injuries are a slow, pain in the butt to heal.

Inside pass in Novice? Sounds like you bit off a little to much.

Like I said I did a stupid and I was tired. Yes I have the horsepower to wipe his ass but I'm too scared to use it LOL. I would never get close enough to him when coming OUT of the turn (he was so unpredictable) to shoot past him in the straight safely. He would ring the nuts off that thing and be all over the straight. When I would show him more then a bike length ahead of him just before the braking zone for turn one he would purposely scoot up, go in front of me, jam the brakes and then park it. Who does that ???

So this time I was on his butt in the last set of turns, late apexed to shoot under him coming out of the turn on the straight. He didn't hold his line which meant I had to lean more and lift the bike to change my line. I didn't follow through on lifting the bike and down I went.

How did I get in to that situation ... I put myself there cause I'm an ... IDIOT !!!

Needless to say, I'm really slow NOW!!!!!! LOL

OK so cold November a bit rainy at Barber. Start out of warmers and get a couple of laps in, tires up to temp then a red flag. We set and set and go. Out of the pits and up the hill into turn five and tuck the front on cold tires at a glacial pace  Naturally I had passed a friend coming up the hill to 4 who got a front row view :sorry:

Though I do have video of TLR67 doing similar on a nice dry warm day :cheer:

Waiting to go out of hot pit for the WERA event back in May and my boot got caught on my Vortex pegs and I couldn't get my foot off to put it down and I fell over and looked like turtle on its back with my bike on top of me. Guy next to me says "Hey, I would help you out but you know, no kickstand." Lol

As a kid the two greatest gifts I ever received was 1) a Daisy Red Ryder BB gun (and I almost shot my eye out but that is a different story) and 2 a Rupp Roadster mini bike. It was a gorgeous black and red bike just like one in this link:
    [IMG]http://me-moto.com/other_makes/78035-rupp-roadster-ii-mini-bike-restored-red-beautiful.html

I wish I still had it. Anyway...

One summer my younger sister is finally old enough to go 2-up so off we go. All is going well riding in the grass parallel to our dirt road. I see a spot ahead where the grass is slightly taller. Ahhh, a small hill!! I am going to gun it get a bit of air and scare my sister - what could possibly go wrong? Well not what you think. I hit the tall grass and the next thing I know my sister is flying over my head and I am heading head first into the grass with the rear wheel of the bike coming at me - upside down. The grass was not extra tall because it was a hill. It was a ditch where water would gather and the grass was growing faster there than the rest of the area so my front wheel was not hitting a hill but a flippin ditch! It hit the ditch and stayed there catapulting us both!

This kind of thing happens in all groups, including advanced. I think it's one of the reasons people choose racing over track days. More excitement and less frustration. That's kinda the direction I'm headed, just been too damn frustrated at track days with all the restrictive rules, and CR's ready to "chat" with you if in your frustration you make a pass they deem questionable.

That moment when I almost highsided the last turn onto the front straight at NCM being aggressive with the throttle in second gear. Mind you it was right in front of the instructor behind me.
