Well want a good day for me personally. W/o that many people at the track it was some very quialty track time!

My previous best and only trip to grattan was a 1'37.0 with consistant 1'38's

I started out tired sore and hungry but still managed to turn consistant low 1'36s with a best of a 1'35.1!

After Ken from Superbike Italia did his magic I was doing with ease (not fighting the bike) 1'34s with a best lap of the day 1'33.1!!! I'm so happy and think with a recharged body I can get a 132 or maybe even 131. I'm really very please with these results from my 4th trackday :D

    How did I miss that?

Sorry I never did figure out where you were at this past weekend at Grattan. Saturday morning I was walking all over the rather thin group of riders looking for your bike. Never did find the bike inthe picture. I was parked somewhat in the middle of the upper parking lot, near the tech garage, with three other riders. I jumped at the opporutnity, under the light turnout conditions, to jump to Advance on Saturday morning. Started with 9 guys on the track. Best thing I ever did and managed to find new lines and much better times. I too went from the 1:38's earlier this year to 1:35's on Sunday. I even managed to find a couple other 600's on the track and a 998 to get around. It was a very good weekend by my standards. This under 40 riders to a event thing can't be good for business but I could get used to it. BTW - I was on the primer gray ZX6R #33.

    JC,

Hey yeah I think I saw you out on the track in the A group on Sunday. Also maybe in the pits when I get getting my bike setup by Superbike. I think I'm going to sign up for the advanced group when I go down to Putnam at month's end.

Did you see that 17yr old on the yellow R6? That kid was FLYING! Doing 1'29's

    Young and fast

The "kid" was parked directly behind our group with his trailer, two dogs and his mom. I was watching him during the Intermediate sessions on saturday and it was pretty obvious he was comfortable at speed and his technique looked very natural. I told him to find an instructor to go around with and move up to Advance on sunday. That was the last I saw of him on the track. I believe with some professional coaching (Keith Code, Pridmore or the like) he could be racing in no time. The kid is fearless but more importantly he seemed mature enough to want to learn everything he could. Bet we see more of him. My wife was telling me about Harry (the starter) talking about the time Nicky and Tommy Hayden were at Grattan as young riders and what it was like to watch them. You never know.

Hope we catch up at another track day this year,

    JC

Casey was his name (not sure on the spelling). He was going really well out there. From the little I talked to he and his mom, he has some dirt experience and it showed out there on the track. He was really smooth and clipping around well. Looking forward to seeing him at the races soon.
