Just checked the schedule and noticed Nashville has been added. That will be the closest track to me. I have been to a WERA race where a friend I knew was racing. Most people I heard comment about it don't seem to like it. Anybody have any input on the track?
Wondering about that too. Im 5 hrs away so not that far from me. I would like to hear some input as well. Thanks
I spent a day there in Sept riding it before we decided to do events there this year. The track is much like Homestead-Miami in that is inside a stock car track. But you know what, it is a lot of fun and will be a great "learning" track as the tight sections are tight and technicle and the front straightaway is sixth gear full-tilt boogie! The facility itself is also very nice with camping in the infield with electric and water and garages are available for everyone. I think all will enjoy it if they just give it a try. Remember, racers like to whine if the track just aint perfect (Barber) but we are not racing we are doing better, we are just having fun!
"I think all will enjoy it if they just give it a try. Remember, racers like to whine if the track just aint perfect (Barber) but we are not racing we are doing better, we are just having fun! " Very good point. I am sure I will be there.
Nashville is actually pretty cool. The pit area is awesome. It's a little slippery coming out of the bus stop if you run wide, but other than that it's nice. They smoothed out the entrance to the bus stop last year which makes "squaring into it" smoother and safer. I know several people that don't care for it much, but I love the place.
Mark, Thanks for the information on Nashville. I will definitely be checking it out this year. You talked about camping in the infield, but can you camp in trailers in the paddock? If so, are there showers close? What about electrical in the paddock area? Any additional help you can give would be much appreciated.
nashville rocks its like any track we go to . it has its good along with the bad .its really fast on the front straight down to 1 or 2nd gear in turn 2 .back half of track is kinda slow 2 or 3rd gear . i was only concerned at 1-2 turns but the track was alot of fun . racers whine when we have a hard time figuring out a track that doesnt make sense ie stay low getting on front straight them get off early ,staying on the gas on these transfers helps settle the bike down really well , but then you have to slow down & turn at the same time for turn 2. paddock is top notch water elec concrete pads garages hope everone has a blast if ya want or need help look me up #867 or inter. track coach see ya there kenny
Yep Nashville is alot O fun, Technical and Fast. Camping is awesome but sorry there are no showers. There is electrical in the Motorhome/Camper lot and in the Paddock/Garages, each stall!!! Counting the days till we go!!
I live 15min from track and do race days and trackdays. Its a fun track. Don't expect a barber facility and you will have fun. Paddock is the best you will fine in the southeast. If Barber had this paddock it would be the best in the US to me. All covered, lots of space for everyone. Restrooms close. All electricty is free. no paying like barber. The track itself is fun, but can be scary if you have eratic lines in some sections. its so fun to come off the back at full lean and get up on the banking.I think anytime you can get on a track you can learn something no matter how the facility is and being so close to home I will always be there when offered. Were not in it for money so I feel like i can go to any track and have an enjoyable day. The track is also having some work done in some areas i believe for improvement. There was actually suppose to be a road course just for bikes with a dragstrip but when the nextel cup deal went south the construction ended with just the oval. Nextel did not want to remove bristol from the schedule and scraped nashville deal. Thats why we have the nice paddock. I also heared there was a dealer here that had a contract just for bikes thats why it could not be rented for trackdays but only for racing. They were the only one that could host trackdays for a few years around here. Castle Powersports.Don't know how true this is but sounds like it because this is the first club to hold just a trackday other than wera at nashville.
I'm glad to see the input on Nashville. I'm a new member here, been riding for years but just did my first trackday back in October. I chose to go to Jennings and had a great weekend. Just as someone else mentioned, Nashville is much closer to me than any other track, about 4 1/2 hours versus about 10 1/2 to Jennings. And brother_ed7, I noticed you're in Lexington, I'm in Hyden, KY let me know when you'll be in Nashville again
What time do the gates close to get it on friday night. Need to know If I need to get off work early or not. Also, how much it cost to camp out. Thanks.
That's a good question. I wouldn't mind dropping all my stuff off the night before. I got a room at the Comfort Suites on hwy 231 in Lebanon. Anybody know how long of a drive it is to the track.
I'll be in Nashville this weekend too. I've heard it was a really nice facility, but have never heard bike guys comment on what riding the track was actually like. It sounds like a lot of fun. I've been riding all my life, and have always wanted to ride on a track. So at age 38, I am doing my first track day. I'll be in the novice group since I am a track newbie. I'll be there Saturday and Sunday, so if you see a very tall, and very large guy on a silver ZX-10R, that's me. Got a couple more days @ Mid-O later this year with a good friend of mine. That's gonna ROCK!!! 8) See you guys there, it's gonna be a blast........
I had a good time at Nashville. I will definitely be back. The first couple of times out it was really hard to get used to.
I live in Nashville and have heard nothing but bad things about the track. I guess it helps to form your own opinion. I had a blast on Sunday. I thought the track was fairly technical. Good mix of tight stuff and wide open throttle. I'll be going back for sure!
