I am looking at a MV Agusta 1000 or a Ducati 749s. Does anyone have any thoughts on these bikes ie. reliability, handling... I am currently running a 04 mille factory which I enjoy. JB

If you like the Mille, get the Duc. The power delivery is very similar, just a little lacking in the basement. If you like expensive GSXR's that draw a crowd, get the MV, they're really nice bikea and made really well, but the power delivery reminds me of a GSXR/CBR/YZF/etc and the handling is not THAT much better, IMHO.

Thank you for the response, that helps. I dont want to spend that amount of money if I dont have to. I was looking to have to buy a bike with the right suspension and goodies, and it gets close to the price of the higher priced bikes. With you comments I will just stay with the Mille, which has been a great bike so far. See you on the track. I love my pictures you tok of me last season. JB

    John,

I don't have any personal experience with MV or Ducati reliability, but I can say that the Mille's reliability is hard to beat. I've put over 10,000 track miles on mine in three seasons with virtually no problems. The valves didn't even require any adjustment after two full seasons! Unless you're looking at resale now vs. later, I'd say you're riding well on the Mille & if it ain't broke don't fix it.
