    NESBA at Monticello?
Reading the new Sport Rider mag, I spied an ad from Yamaha offering a free track day with NESBA to demo the new bikes. Among other tracks, Monticello is listed. Has NESBA had a change of heart about their safety issues at Monticello?
I've ridden both Monticello tracks, and I have to say they are my favorite tracks within 25 miles of my house! (Lucky Bastard!)
Actually, I'd love them even if they were 5 hours away. Sounds like we may see three or more clubs doing track days at Monticello next year. Naturally STT is my first pick!

Yes nesba decided to not run it from their own safety review, but they made some changes for the STT group and felt like it could be run safely

I joined NESBA last march because they had Monti on their schedule. I booked 6 days right away as well as gettng the membership. They pulled out 4 days before the first day there!!!! WTF!!! Talk about no notice. I got my money back.

When STT had that first day there 7/31 they bashed the hell out of Monti and STT. When TPM went there in august they bashed TPM. They said the track was dangerous how dare anyone ride there after they deemed the track unfit. I do NOT care for their elistist attitude and will not ride with them this season. They said now that STT & TPM have days there the track will not make the necessary chages NESBA deems necessary. NESBA can get lost and stay on the tracks they think are safe.

    If we run a venue it's safe...period.

Don't believe all the "media" as to why someone isn't at a particular venue. Stating safety is ones scapegoat.

Track days are just that- track days. The risks you would theoretically take in a RACE are much less those than you should in a TRACK DAY.
Track day= fun controlled environment with designated passing zones (as per your group) with friendly 'competition' amongst like minded individuals looking to bone up skills and have FUN
Race= You're either first or first loser.....much less controlled, multiple skill levels on track at once, multiple classes on track at once, fun mixed with true competition, no control riders, money involved, egos involved etc etc etc

So the threshold for 'safety' at a track for where I would do a track day are much different from someplace I would race...

This subject has been hashed on many of the other forums too- I'm convinced it's winter and we're all bored and making mountains out of mole hills on this issue.

It's a track day- just go have FUN and BE SAFE!

I'll be at Monticello the first chance I can....Apr 26

Looks like BMW won't be there with the 1000RR because of the forcasted rain.
