People that had their cc #'s stolen ealier this year keep your eye on your bank account! I had $5000 stolen out of my bank account on halloween. Aparently the people that stole my cc# made purchases and I canceled my cc. Then they filed with an insurance company saying that I didn't pay for the purchases that "I" made with my cc and they went after my bank. The bank then took $ away from my checking account to pay for what the insurance company was after. Frickin theives!!!! I know this is not STT's fault I'm just telling anyone that had $ stolen from them ealier this year to keep an eye on your account.

    EDIT: Changed title

Dude, that's seriously not cool. :? I remember when all of this stuff happened last time and I was one of those that got hit. It was a big pain. I'm not saying it's good you got jipped and that really seriously sucks, but I'm hoping it's not related to here again. I'm hoping that the fraud came from another site.

It initially stemmed from the whole cc issue here. That has been taken care of and I appreciate Monte and Bonnie's efforts to get that corrected. I believe that before i canceled my cc the scammers tried to purchase more bags from coach. Well in the middle of the transaction i canceled my cc and now coach has filed with thier insurance company that I canceled my credit card and still recieved merchandise (well not me but the scammers). So coach's insurance company went through my bank and got more $$. In BOA's report it says that this insurance company has tried to contact me 4 previous times to get their $$. I have never been contacted once about this. It is a very screwy deal. I believe I've got it taken care of now but I still have some legal papers coming that I have to sign and return to BOA. I'm just warning everyone else that got hit earlier this year to keep their eye on their bank account.

What card brand was it - they hit my AMEX card and from what I understand, AMEX not being a 'bank card', there is no bank account associated with it - AMEX took care of everything and it was fixed asap. Worth the extra $$$ to have AMEX IMO...

This happened to me in april of this year. This is the first i've heard of this being linked to STT. They got me for $3,200 from Coach. I cancelled my cards but I really hope i don't have to go through any of that again.

A ton of people got hit through coach earlier this year. The site did fix the security problem though. That's why I'm wondering if this is a separate incident. I haven't had any problems since then.

Visa and MasterCard offer the same liability, regardless of the bank issuing the card. I believe you are mistaking a debit card with a bank card...Amex is actually a federally chartered bank.

Looks to me like you have somebody talking behind your back impersonating you, provided your card bears a Visa or MC logo you are only liable for $50 in fraudulent charges, as long as you notify your bank in a reasonable amount of time.
